Job Description:
The AC Technician should possess primary expertise in the HVAC field while also being multiskilled with additional competencies in other trades.
An Aircon Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing air conditioning systems in the assigned property maintained. The technician ensures the proper functioning of HVAC systems, diagnosing and fixing any malfunctions, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Installation:

Install new air conditioning systems, including ductwork, thermostats, and refrigerant lines.

Install AC pipe line (chilled water and drain), insulation, valves, and other accessories.

Preventive Maintenance:
-
Carry-out scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to ensure building systems are operating at peak efficiency and to prevent unexpected downtime.

Maintain a log of completed tasks and upcoming maintenance schedules.
-
Check for signs of wear and tear, refrigerant or chilled water leaks, electrical issues, and general system malfunctions.

Strictly follow and complete the PM report details.

Corrective Maintenance or Repairs:
-
Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in air conditioning systems. Repair or replace defective components such as compressors, fans, thermostats, or electrical systems.

Diagnose and repair faults in various systems, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
-
Reprocessing of refrigerant for DX type units.
-
Repair or replace defective parts for chilled water supplied unit such as AC motor, capacitors, filters, thermostat, modulating valve, insulation, drain line, and its electrical system.

Respond to urgent repair requests and troubleshoot issues quickly to restore system function.

System Inspections:

Perform routine checks to ensure systems are running efficiently and within safety guidelines. Provide recommendations for system upgrades or replacements when necessary.

Refrigerant Handling:

Safely handle and charge refrigerants as per industry regulations. Ensure that systems meet environmental compliance standards regarding refrigerant usage.

Customer Service:
-
Communicate with clients to understand their air conditioning needs and offer expert advice.

Emergency Maintenance:
-
Be available for emergency response outside of regular working hours to address urgent repairs or operational issues.

Provide first-response troubleshooting for facility breakdowns and coordinate any necessary repairs or replacements.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work, repairs, and installations.
-
Complete service reports and submit to immediate supervisor ensuring all works are documented properly.

Provide recommendations for improving system efficiency or upgrading outdated equipment.

Safety and Compliance:
-
Adhere to safety protocols and local regulations regarding HVAC systems, refrigerants, and electrical components.

Comply with company safety protocols regarding overall work safety.
