Global Business Unit Renewables is supporting the Group to accelerate RES asset development with an EBIT around €1.1Bn. We count 4,000 employees and more than 50 nationalities across 20 countries. With an installed capacity of 38 GW across 4 Operational Areas, GBU Renewables manages a diversified portfolio of assets including Solar (3.5 GW), Wind (10.9 GW) and hydro (17.7 GW) assets. Our ambition is to multiply by 2.1 our installed capacity with 80 GW in 2030.
Wind Project Manager
Reporting to the Project & Design Department Manager, the Wind Project Manager (she or he) will be an enabler and a major contributor of successful delivery of Projects, i.e. safe, reliable, on time and within budget.
As Project Manager in Wind Energy you will be the referent in OnShore and potentially Offshore Wind Project Management for the RGBU responsible to support and review the management and implementation of wind energy projects during all phases of project life, actively gathering and disseminating Wind Project management best practices, out of which H&S, and contributing to improve the onshore wind project performance and competitiveness. The projects you will be working on include international missions during pre-project or execution phases. These projects can be situated worldwide. It will depend on the needs of the local BU what your exact role will be on each project. You can also be involved in solar project for similar role.
He or she will be responsible to coordinate all the RGBU industrial platform support to project acting as main point of contacts for the local project teams
.
Main activities:
• To organize, coordinate and supervise support of the RGBU industrial platform (engineering, procurement, quality, HSE, contract) depending on the needs of a specific project;
• To ensure that all project and corporate (RGBU and group level) procedures are correctly followed
• To support REX and look for continuous improvement in all processes and methodologies in contact with RGBU project knowledge manager;
• To act as coach towards more junior colleagues or less experienced affiliates;
• To support and review the Project Management Plans and supporting documents of projects;
• To support evaluation and selection of contracting strategy;
• Review contractors HSE plan and QHSE deliverables and ensure compliance with equator principles and Engie internal requirements;
• To provide support for M&A activities (project pipeline and/or projects in operation);
• Support in value engineering activities and technical optimization for the entire solution and propose ideas to increase project competitiveness
• To lead or support construction readiness review;
• To lead or support commissioning readiness review;
• To lead or support any ad-hoc Project reviews;
• To support in the creation / update of RGBU template documents, guidelines, …
Interfaces:
The main interfaces for the Wind Project Manager will be the Project & design management team, the portfolio managers, the Local BUs and RGBU industrial platform.
Qualifications
Experience/diploma
• University degree or equivalent in engineering or management
• At least 8 years experience in the energy sector, including 3 years in wind for construction projects
• At least 3 years of International experience of projects execution (Project Managers, PMO)
• Experience with working in a project-oriented culture, based on collaborative, agile and innovative ways of working
• Experience in business development is considered a plus
Skills/specific knowledge
• Knowledge of onshore wind farm project management
• Knowledge in onshore wind procurement
• Rich with experience from different energy sectors and technologies to inspire and challenge renewables practices
• Multicultural skills and experience
• Interpersonal relationship and communication skills
• Change management skills, open minded and support for change
• Ability to work in a complex and dynamic environment
• Fluent in English; other languages are a plus
• Ready to travel for short or medium missions is required.
Specific business understanding
• Good understanding of the operational dimensions of GBU Renewables activities and transversal organization
