Context:
This open position is within the Operational Area Energy Management of S&EM, supporting the Power Business Platforms (BP Power Trading & Commercial (PT&C); BP Power Asset Services (PAS)).
Role:
We are looking for a P&L & Reporting Analyst to reinforce the Middle Office team within the finance team. You will join a challenging and fast-paced environment where you will contribute to day-to-day performance monitoring and reporting, and take part in continuous improvement initiatives (process enhancements and tool automation) with support from the team.
As a P&L & Reporting Analyst, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing and reviewing (daily/weekly/monthly) the economic P&L, in coordination with team members;
- Preparing actuals, best estimate and budget reporting, and contributing to management reporting packs;
- Supporting new businesses, activities, markets and products by providing analyses and operational follow-up;
- Contributing to process improvements and tool automation (identifying pain points, testing solutions, documenting changes);
- Ensuring compliance with the internal control framework within your scope, escalating issues when needed.
You will work closely with the controlling team in charge of validating accounting results, analyzing financial indicators
Expertise & Skills:
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills;
- Strong proficiency in Excel and Power BI;
- Good knowledge of trading systems and information management (or willingness to learn quickly);
- Experience with Python is valued;
- Good understanding of energy markets and hedging instruments
- Assertive, resilient, highly organized, proactive, and eager to learn;
- Integrity, teamwork, and adaptability are essential.
Education and professional background:
- Degree in applied economics or finance or equivalent
- minimum 3 years of relevant experience is required
Languages:
- Fluent in French and/or Dutch as well as English
