Job Purpose

The Organisational Design Consultant is responsible for leading the development and implementation planning of a high-level operating model and RACI matrix for EEA. This role will focus on aligning the organisational structure, roles, processes, and technologies with the strategic goals of the organisation, ensuring efficient and effective operations and decision-making processes across all departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the Current State: Conduct thorough assessments of existing organisational structures, processes, roles, and technologies to identify areas for enhancement.
  • Assess Capacity and Capability: Perform initial evaluations to identify strengths and weaknesses within the organisation, informing the development of a new operating model.
  • Develop a New Operating Model: Design a high-level operating model that resolves identified inefficiencies, aligns with strategic objectives, and incorporates best practices.
  • Create and Refine a RACI Matrix: Construct a comprehensive RACI matrix that clearly specifies responsibilities, accountability, consultation, and information pathways for all critical processes.
  • Engage Stakeholders: Actively collaborate with key stakeholders to solicit feedback, validate the proposed model, and ensure alignment with overall business requirements.
  • Prepare and Present Reports: Compile and deliver detailed reports and presentations on the current state, design principles of the operating model, and the finalised operating model and RACI matrix to senior leadership.

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Proven Expertise: At least 10 years of experience in organisational design, change management, or related fields, ideally within similar industries or organisational sizes.
  • Strong strategy, visioning and engagement skills, with the ability to set and communicate and align the organization around a strategic vision
  • Exceptional judgement and decision-making skills, with the ability to independently assess situations, and take appropriate action to achieve results
  • Significant people leadership experience, leading and motivating large and diverse teams across countries and the ability to create a high-performing culture
  • Strong strategy skillset, with knowledge of core strategy and planning frameworks, but also ability to solve any problem from first principles
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to develop meaningful relationships with internal stakeholders (especially other Global HoDs and CDs) and external stakeholders (e.g. partners, suppliers, funders, government, etc.)
  • Strong project management capability and a strong ability to lead a project through from concept, to framing, structuring, design and execution
  • Outstanding ability to leverage data analytics to identify insights, then build action plans and execute against them
  • English is mandatory, with French, Portuguese or Swahili a plus
