What You Can Expect
As the Optimization Engineer II, you will be responsible for developing and executing optimization projects aimed at reducing natural gas usage at the energy facilities of the brewery operated by Colorado Energy Nations Company. Your primary focus will be on steam production and distribution, electricity production and distribution, and condensate collection and return, all as they relate to the malting and brewing processes. You will conceptualize, propose, develop, and implement projects that lower natural gas consumption and generate cost savings. This position is based in Golden, CO, and you will report to the Plant Manager.
In this role your key responsibilities everyday will be:
- Collaborate with plant and brewery staff to develop and continually maintain a list of potential projects to reduce gas usage in each of the three main systems: steam, electricity, and condensate Projects may include but are not limited to equipment upgrades, improving distribution systems, and optimization of processes
- Provide a conceptual design of the project, a Rough Order of Magnitude cost estimate, a projection of performance efficiency, and the expected natural gas consumption reduction
- Present each project to the plant manager and the owner for approval
- Oversee and manage the execution of approved projects
- Maintain relationships with brewery personnel, most notably with the brewery
- Leverage ideas and benefits to improve the sustainability of brewery operations
What You’ll Bring
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering such as Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or related disciplines
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in one or more of the target energy systems: steam, electricity, and condensate; knowledge of sustainability principles and natural gas/methane systems and production
- Familiarity with thermal generation processes and energy distribution systems
- Must be organized and possess the ability to multi-task, coordinate, and prioritize work
- Advance skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project to analyze, and graphically display large data sets
Additional Details
- This role requires attendance at a worksite on a daily basis
- Ability to exhibit flexibility which may require late night and/or weekend attention
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record the ability to drive a company vehicle to sites, customers, and company activities
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies;
- This position consists of 10% of outdoor work, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions
Compensation
Salary Range: $90,000 – $126,247 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
