Summary of what you will do
- Assist in monthly accounts and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Calculate and prepare cost allocations for ENGIE UK Ltd
- Support the month-end close process, meeting tight reporting deadlines
- Prepare accounting adjustments in line with IFRS standards
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including our shared service centre in Belgium, to ensure accurate accounting and reporting
- Review and improve tasks to create time efficiencies and add value
- Serve as the single point of contact for UK Corporate procurement queries
- Support the wider corporate finance team with ad hoc tasks as needed
What you will bring to the role
- Qualified AAT or in early stages of a recognized accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA)
- Minimum 2 years' experience working in a month-end accounting team
- Strong knowledge of accruals, prepayments, allocations, and intercompany transactions
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with SAP is preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Analytical mindset with a solutions-driven approach to problem-solving
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and adapt to unexpected requests
