ENGIE Impact is seeking an innovative and creative professional to join their Strategy and Sustainability team. Reporting to the VP of Corporate Strategy, you will manage and execute ENGIE Impact’s Corporate Sustainability programs and activities relating to corporate sustainability in furtherance of our mission and business strategy.  You will identify and support strategic initiatives and play a key role in end-to-end strategy development. A demonstrated track record as an exemplary strategic thinker and problem-solver is required.

 

The Sustainability Manager will support strategic projects and play a key role in managing the successful implementation of ENGIE Impact’s Corporate Sustainability (CS) strategy, short- and long-term goals, foundational projects, new corporate initiatives and assessing priorities for ENGIE Impact.

 

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the CS program is aligned with and supports the advancement of ENGIE Impact’s business strategy and goals, as well as ENGIE Group’s goals.
  • Lead cross-functional and cross-organizational collaboration of key stakeholders throughout the organization on CS strategy development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Lead annual GHG Footprinting exercises, working with internal teams such as Carbon Intelligence
  • Lead the development of all internal/external CS-related communications and public reporting, including independent client reporting, UNGC, and ENGIE Impact’s annual Sustainability Report
  • Create messaging and other communication materials that showcase Corporate Sustainability efforts with data driven insights for internal and external audiences
  • Evaluate CS initiatives against industry standards and internal metrics; analyze results and develop action plans to ensure ENGIE Impact has a best-in-class CS program.
  • Ensure legal compliance, keeping up to date with relevant legislation, and advising where necessary
  • Contribute to corporate strategy development by presenting to and influencing discussions with the executive and extended global leadership team
  • Collaborate with VP of Corporate Strategy to define key business inputs and outputs that drive long term planning decisions for ENGIE Impact, as well as provide strategic and operational guidance, recommendations, and support (trusted advisor role)
  • Provide strategic support for Quarterly Business Reviews, Executive Committee meetings, Group requests/meetings, and C-level client engagements as needed
  • Working across business organizations and with related functions to learn the business, develop and animate an informal network of strategy contacts within the business to stay aligned and informed across Impact

 

Education/Certification/Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Corporate Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Sustainable Development or related degree

 

Experience and Skills

 

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience driving complex and strategic programs with proven and measurable results and diverse stakeholders across organizations.
  • Experience implementing change strategies in an organizational context.
  • Experience working with C-suite and senior leadership to communicate, influence and drive program/initiative support.
  • Experience leading, motivating and influencing teams to accomplish goals while fostering a strong collaborative work environment.
  • Experience reporting results within sustainability frameworks (such as UNDG, GRI standards, CDP, TCFD or others)
  • In-depth understanding of strategic planning, change management, organizational development, program integration techniques and CSR practices that drive assimilation.
  • Understanding of energy efficiency/sustainability strategies, corporate social responsibility, and employee engagement.
  • Proficient in gathering, managing, reporting and presenting data and analytics.
  • Ability to nimbly transition between strategic and tactical planning, with a strong capability in shifting approach per the ever-evolving needs of the business.
  • Strong proficiency in gathering, managing, and presenting data and analytics with prior sustainability inventories experience
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented, detail-oriented, analytical, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment.
  • Proven ability to independently manage complex projects
  • Experience building external and internal strategic relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to communicate to cross-functional teams at multiple levels of the organization
  • Advanced computer skills - MS Excel, Word, Power Point, data management or data visualization tools
  • Possess strong project management skills and can manage scope, meet timelines, and present insights to senior leaders within the organization
  • Strong ability to “altitude shift” – zoom out for high level strategic thinking, then zoom back in to ruthlessly prioritize and execute

The pay range for this role is: $111,000-144000.00

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data. This position is eligible for our comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Additional ENGIE benefits include a 401k plan, paid time off and annual bonus. ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Typical office hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Performing duties and attending meetings during the evening and on weekends will occur occasionally and may be required.
  • Minimum of 10% travel may be required.
