The Supply & Energy Management (S&EM) Global Business Unit is the fully integrated trading arm of the ENGIE Group. S&EM teams manage a large and highly diversified energy portfolio, including electricity, natural gas, biomass, LNG and other fuels, CO2 and environmental products, and provide a range of trading risk management solutions to all types of market participants in Europe, Asia Pacific and in the Americas. S&EM manages the B2B supply business within ENGIE, including supply contracts and Power Purchase Agreements.

 

Within the S&EM Business Unit, BP APAC is responsible for GEMS activities in Asia Pacific & Middle East & aims at managing and developing the group’s trading activities for these regions around 4 main pillars: risk management and market access, asset management, green solutions and energy supply businesses. BP APAC as part of this expansion strategy for developing Asset Management business  is looking to set up platform in India to support RGBU / group development and develop related commercial franchise.

 

The missions of GEMS INDIA set up are :

  • Support the development and the operations of the other Global Business Units (GBUs) in all aspects related to risk representation and asset management

Develop Merchant access and commercial franchise which contributes to the overall risk management of the portfolio and generates value.

 

 

 

Purpose

 

In order to continue our development implementation, we are looking for a meticulous and proactive Power Scheduler to join our trading organization. The Power Scheduler will be responsible for developing and maintaining schedules for power trading activities, ensuring optimal power purchase and sale strategies, and complying with market regulations. This role involves close coordination with traders, market operators, and Originators/Business Developer.

 

Power Schedulers play a crucial role in balancing supply and demand, optimizing & implementing trading strategies, and ensuring regulatory compliance in the energy market. Robust processes and reliable and detailed oriented Power scheduler will ensure EEMI to reduce as much as possible all operational risk & mistakes.

Key missions / Responsibilities / In this role you’ll be responsible for…

  • Support the set up of all operational activities for trading including control room activities, processes, SOPs
  • Support development of automation activities for power trading
  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly schedules for power trading and commercial activities.
  • Coordinate with the forecasting agencies as applicable and monitor and coordinate schedules according to trading contracts and market arrangements.
  • Schedule all power purchases and sales with other utilities and trading partners.
  • Maintain detailed logs documenting all relevant operating information, issues, and resolutions.
  • Forecast energy demand and market trends to optimize trading strategies.
  • Coordinate with traders/commercial (client deal) to dispatch necessary generation resources and manage power flows.
  • Monitor market performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with energy market rules, regulations, and trading agreements.
  • Participate in energy market auctions and trading sessions to buy or sell power - Handling independently the bidding on power exchange segments like RTM/DAM/GDAM/HP-DAM/TAM/REC/ Escerts, etc.
  • Perform risk assessment and management for power trading activities.
  • Document all scheduling and trading activities for audit and reporting purposes.
