What You Can Expect
As our Senior IT Network Engineer, you will serve as an experienced, hands-on technical leader responsible for designing, implementing, delivering, and managing enterprise IT and Operational Technology (OT) networking solutions across the North America region. In this role, you will collaborate closely with ENGIE’s global infrastructure team to ensure enterprise networking standards, best practices, and security requirements are consistently deployed and maintained throughout the region. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in network architecture, operations, and infrastructure management, with the ability to lead complex technical initiatives and support critical business operations. In this role, you must handle highly sensitive information with the highest level of discretion and confidentiality. You will be responsible for safeguarding transactional, proprietary, security, and personal data in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements, both within the workplace and in external environments.
This position is based in Houston, TX and reports to the IT Network Operations Manager.
- Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) on Enterprise internetworking technologies. Stays abreast of IT technologies trends and industry best practices to provide expert recommendation to management on overall network architecture strategy
- Maintain, enforce, and communicate IT and OT Network standards and policies to all customers. Document and inventory network details for reference and in alignment with IT Controls requirements
- Must be able to prioritize work, manage conflicting requirements, and understand long-term support, security, and economic implications of work product. Expected to evaluate multiple options independently for major projects and present a recommendation that is supported by research and external analysis where possible
- Ability to work independently to assess requirements, plan, design, and implement enterprise technology or IT functions including networks (LAN/WAN) services, equipment and devices
- Participates in Company’s IT Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity Plan which provides a defined level of systems functionality in the event of an unplanned emergency or disaster
- Effective communication skills with internal and external parties, including customers and vendors. Strong troubleshooting and communication skill, willingness to assist troubling issue outside of networking area
- Provide network operation escalation support for service desk until resolution
- Actively monitoring network availability through enterprise network monitoring tools and proactively response to potential network issue
What You’ll Bring
- You hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. In lieu of a degree, we will consider candidates with equivalent hands-on experience, technical training, certifications, and a proven track record of successfully delivering and supporting complex IT infrastructure and networking solutions
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in designing and supporting large-scale enterprise and ICS/SCADA network
- A minimum of five (5) years minimum experience in supporting a 1,000 nodes corporate network environment
- You hold one or more industry-recognized certifications in networking, cloud, or security technologies, such as Azure, AWS, Cisco, Fortinet, or related disciplines
- You have extensive experience designing, implementing, and managing enterprise networking and security solutions across public cloud platforms (AWS and Azure) and on-premises data center environments
- You are knowledgeable in enterprise networking technologies, including LAN, WAN, VPN, SD-WAN, firewalls, network load balancing, 4G/5G wireless, and Wi-Fi architectures
- You are knowledgeable in networking protocols and services, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BOOTP, 802.1X, 802.1Q, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VPN, Ethernet, VLANs, Spanning Tree, and proxy technologies
- You have a strong understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure, security, disaster recovery, monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting, as well as working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server environments, Azure AD, Active Directory, Okta, Microsoft 365, VMware, IaaS, and PaaS technologies
Additional Details
- This position requires working onsite at our Houston,TX office five (5) days per week
- Must be available to travel domestically up to 40% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
- must possess a valid U.S. driver's license with a clean driving record and be able to operate a company vehicle. This role requires the ability to travel to and drive between company facilities and project sites as needed
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation
Salary Range: $102,000 – $156,400 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
