You will establish the governance, controls, and regulatory strategies that help ENGIE maintain reliable operations and meet requirements across NERC, FERC, Regional Entities, ISO/RTO markets, utility commissions, and other regulatory jurisdictions.

You will work closely with leaders across Operations, Engineering, Asset Management, Development, Delivery, Cybersecurity, Legal, Commercial Operations, and other functions to resolve compliance risks and clarify ownership. You will also lead and develop the Regulatory Compliance team while serving as the final internal Regulatory Compliance approver for material matters within your delegated authority.

  • Interpret applicable regulatory requirements and approve documented applicability, registration, jurisdictional, and functional-responsibility determinations across ENGIE’s power operations
  • Direct regulatory registrations, filings, certifications, attestations, Requests for Information, audits, self-reports, mitigation plans, corrective actions, and other material submissions, confirming that supporting information is accurate, timely, complete, and defensible
  • Oversee regulatory readiness for new and existing generation, renewable energy, battery storage, and transmission assets, including interconnection, commissioning, modeling, testing, weatherization, emergency operations, commercial-operation transitions, and asset integration
  • Guide ENGIE’s implementation of NERC Reliability Standards, NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection requirements, inverter-based resource requirements, Regional Entity obligations, ISO/RTO and market rules, EIA reporting, and applicable United States and Canadian regulatory requirements
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Asset Management, Technology, Cybersecurity, Legal, Commercial Operations, Development, Delivery, and external providers to assign ownership, address control or evidence gaps, and escalate unresolved regulatory risks
  • Lead, develop, and retain the Regulatory Compliance team by establishing priorities, balancing workloads, assigning primary and qualified backup ownership, and building sustainable internal expertise through training, cross-training, and succession planning

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Law, Regulatory Affairs, Energy Management, Public Policy, Information Technology, or a related field in which you developed knowledge applicable to energy operations, regulatory compliance, or enterprise program governance; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
  • Minimum, 15 years of progressively responsible experience in NERC compliance, reliability compliance, power-system operations, power regulatory affairs, engineering, power markets, or a related energy discipline, including at least five (5) years in a senior leadership role
  • Experience leading or supporting regulatory compliance within electric power, renewable energy, battery storage, transmission, utility, or independent power producer operations
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and implementing NERC Reliability Standards and managing obligations involving Regional Entities, registered functions, ISO/RTO or system-operator requirements, audits, registrations, regulatory inquiries, evidence, and remediation
  • Experience directing cross-functional programs and making documented, defensible decisions involving technical, operational, legal, commercial, cybersecurity, and regulatory stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of renewable generation, battery storage, power markets, inverter-based resources, commissioning, protection and control, facility ratings, modeling, generator performance, or related technical data
  • Experience using compliance management, audit, workflow, documentation, or reporting systems, such as Archer, GridStrong, SharePoint, dashboards, corrective-action trackers, regulatory portals, or comparable platforms
