Who are we looking for?
We are currently searching for Sales Manager SME in S&EM Italy, reporting to the Head of Downstream, based in Milan. The Sales Manager SME will lead a team of Area Managers and oversee the management of agencies through these managers, focusing on the SME segment in the electricity and gas sector.

What will you do?
As Sales Manager SME, you will:

  • Collaborate actively with the Head of Downstream building a dedicated stream on SME within the Downstream desk according with the Platform Leader inputs and S&EM Italy strategy milestones.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Area Managers, ensuring achievement of sales/P&L targets and professional growth.
  • Oversee the management of agencies through Area Managers, ensuring alignment with company objectives and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Propose and manage on yearly base a business plans for SME with profitable growth based on sound and in-depth data analytics on clients & contract portfolio.
  • Support Head of Downstream and COO on building a SME stream ensuring that front-end operations are secured, efficient and with a strong digital orientation. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key SME customers for electricity and gas supply.
  • Develop business with a strong achievement of sales and profitability results.
  • Contribute to the negotiation of contracts.
  • Propose and help structure new products and services for SME clients.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and loyalty, resolving any issues or complaints.
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within existing customers.
  • Provide feedback and insights internally to improve our offerings and competitive edge.
  • Participate in the team’s spirit and collaborate transversally with other sales managers.

 

ABOUT YOU

The ideal profile matches with the followings prerequisites:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field;
  • At least ten years of experience as Sales Manager in SME segment with a proven track-record and accountability of the full P&L in the position.
  • Excellent financial acumen and experience managing budgets and financial performance, with deep understanding of the impact of the energy transition and of energy risk management.
  • Excellent stress management, especially in scenarios requiring quick reactions.
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead a large team, especially Area Managers and agencies, in an Italian environment with a successful track record in leading transformation and working in start-up mode.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive growth and operational excellence.
  • Fluent English and Italian. Fluent in French would be a plus.
  • Collaborative, able to create an inclusive and motivating work environment and team spirit.
  • Ability to build and maintain credibility and trust with senior stakeholders and to be able to communicate complex issues simply and compellingly to clients and employees.
  • Demonstrated leadership and assertiveness, with excellent negotiation (including with external stakeholders such as TPI, Agencies & B2B clients) and communication & presentation skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented. Humble.
  • Willingness to travel in Italy and abroad.

 

Type of contract:

Local contract according to Italian labour law.
