About the Role

We’re seeking an Originator & Structurer to focus on Short‑Term Power Transactions, supporting Senior Originators in the origination, structuring and execution of short‑ to medium‑term power transactions within the Australian electricity market. This is a strong development opportunity for someone looking to build capability in energy origination and structured transactions, working closely with experienced leaders.

Reporting to the Head of Origination, the role works closely with Trading and cross‑functional stakeholders to support deal delivery, client engagement and the continued growth of ENGIE’s commercial activities, while strengthening ENGIE’s market presence and capability in structured energy transactions and supporting your ongoing learning and progression in the role.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the full lifecycle of short‑term power transactions, from initial opportunity assessment through to contract execution as part of building end‑to‑end origination capability.
  • Assist in identifying and developing a robust pipeline of commercial opportunities aligned with ENGIE’s strategic objectives.
  • Contribute to the structuring, pricing and financial analysis of short‑ and medium‑term power transactions and bespoke risk management solutions while continuing to deepen commercial and market expertise.
  • Support negotiations and help progress transactions through internal approval processes, including risk, credit, legal and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate deal documentation, system records and reporting to meet governance, audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external clients, supporting ENGIE’s reputation as a trusted and easy‑to‑deal‑with partner and developing long‑term stakeholder capability.

About You

You bring a collaborative, commercially minded approach and are motivated, curious and keen to learn, with an interest in building capability in power origination and short‑term energy transactions. You’re comfortable supporting complex commercial deals, working across trading and broader business teams, and contributing to value creation in a fast‑moving energy market with the support of experienced colleagues.

You will ideally have:

  • A degree in Economics, Commerce, Financial Markets, Law or a related field.
  • Experience in energy markets, ideally within the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM).
  • Exposure to short‑term power trading, origination, contract negotiation or structured products and an interest in continuing to develop in this space.
  • Strong commercial and financial literacy, with the ability to assess deal performance and risk.
  • A genuine interest in energy transition, decarbonisation and evolving market dynamics and a desire to grow a long‑term career in the energy sector.

At ENGIE, every talent has a role to play in accelerating the energy transition. Make a difference and enjoy a fulfilling professional experience. Take on exciting challenges and build a career path that reflects who you are.
