Position Overview

Take the lead in establishing and expanding Tractebel’s engineering consulting business in Australia by identifying new opportunities, forming strategic partnerships, and securing key projects across the Power Sector: Energy (Renewables, BESS, Gas), Water (hydropower, pumped storage), and Transmission sectors. You will play an instrumental role in enhancing our market presence by engaging with key stakeholders and positioning TRACTEBEL as a trusted player in the Australian energy consulting space.

 

 

 Your Job function

  • Strategic Execution:
  • Implement Tractebel’s defined business development strategy and align global offerings with local needs

 

  • Business Development & Lead Generation
  • Drive business development by generating qualified leads through strategic outreach, partnerships, and digital channels.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships while managing the full client acquisition lifecycle—from enquiry generation to successful deal closure.

 

  • Bid & Proposal Management:
  • Lead & manage end-to-end bid processes, ensuring timely, high-quality submissions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver compliant, competitive, and strategically aligned proposals.

 

  • Market Intelligence & Partnerships:
  • Conduct in-depth market and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends, regulatory shifts and sector-specific opportunities.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with clients such as Developers, Government Organizations, EPCs, banks/financial institutions to enhance market penetration and drive sustainable business growth.  

 

  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Collaborate with regional/global teams to ensure alignment on business goals, market strategies, and regional execution plans.
  • Provide business forecasts and maintain a transparent pipeline through regular reporting to support data-driven decision-making.

 

  • Strategic Networking:
  • Establish and nurture relationships with stakeholders across the Power and Water sector.
  • Gain early insights into tenders and opportunities.

 

  • Compliance & Risk
  • Ensure compliance with local laws and internal policies.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial and operational risks.

 

   Your Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering from a recognised institution is required; an MBA is highly desirable. Chartered Engineer accreditation with Engineers Australia is considered a strong asset.
  • Extensive experience in engineering consulting and a strong focus on business development, including mandatory prior experience in the Australian engineering consulting sector. Brings deep expertise in the Australian power market and regulatory environment, along with a well-established industry network and a proven track record of building strategic partnerships that drive business growth.
  • Brings extensive experience in sourcing, developing, and securing high-value consulting assignments by strategically engaging with EPCs, project developers, and financial institutions across the value chain. Proven ability to win complex consulting contracts through solution-oriented proposals and strong client relationships.
  • Strong networking & negotiation skills.
