About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Construction Site Representative to support the delivery of the Hazelwood Battery Energy Storage System, a key project in Australia's energy transition. This is a fixed-term contract, expected to continue until January 2028, subject to project completion.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you’ll be based at Hazelwood in Gippsland, Victoria, throughout construction, commissioning, energisation and handover. Acting as ENGIE’s on-site representative, you’ll oversee contractor performance and ensure compliance with safety, environmental and quality requirements to support the safe and efficient delivery of the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily on-site activities across contractors, suppliers and key stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
- Monitor construction, commissioning and testing activities to ensure compliance with contractual, technical, quality and regulatory requirements.
- Champion health, safety and environmental performance by ensuring adherence to ENGIE standards, project plans and legislative obligations.
- Track project progress, milestones, risks and issues, providing regular reporting and proactive solutions to support successful delivery.
- Coordinate commissioning, energisation, acceptance testing and performance testing activities in collaboration with contractors and technical advisors.
- Manage project handover activities, including the review and completion of as-built documentation, operating manuals, warranties and close-out requirements.
About You
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline, together with a White Card and current driver's licence.
- Demonstrated experience in construction site management, heavy engineering, industrial operations or major infrastructure project delivery.
- Experience delivering renewable energy projects, particularly battery energy storage, solar or wind projects, is highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of project management, contractor management and construction compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to lead site teams, build strong stakeholder relationships and influence positive safety outcomes.
Experience supporting commissioning, energisation and handover activities for large-scale infrastructure or energy projects.
