Your key responsabilities
Tractebel is currently involved in the design of the main civil works for the Snowy 2.0 hydroelectric project, under design and construction in Australia, within the Design Joint Venture (DJV). Tractebel is in charge of the geotechnical design and structural design of the Power Station Complex (PSC). This PSC will fit six reversible units for a total installed capacity of 2000 MW.
Activities will be carried out from Snowy 2.0 construction site (Lobs Hole), located 140km away from the Project Office in Cooma, NSW.
Mission
Reporting to the Civil Works Lead Resident Engineer, the Civil Works (CW) / Electro Mechanical (EM) Interface Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support to the Civil Contractor, including monitoring the implementation of the DJV design on site and supporting design modifications relating to CW/EM interfaces.
All tasks below are generic but shall be performed with a particular focus on CW/EM interfaces:
- Attend all design coordination meetings and CW/EM interface meetings;
- Supporting the review and approval of shop drawings and as-built drawings from a CW/EM interface perspective;- Participation and leadership, where appropriate, in internal and external technical meetings (with FGJV, VH and with the SHL Employer) to resolve comments and issues;
- Coordination with FGJV, VH and SHL to carry out "post-IFC" studies in relation with CW/EM interfaces;
- Liaise with the TEF Design Leader when changes / new inputs need to be implemented into the design (after such changes/new inputs have been formalized) in relation with CW/EM interfaces;
- Resolving technical issues arising from the site (RFI, FCN, NCR, etc.)
- Regular inspection visits to the site, to check that the work is in line with the approved design (ensuring that design intent is met)
- In the event of non-conformity being identified, direct communication with the Client's representatives on site in order to resolve the situation, if possible, immediately. Drafting of “field observation report” (FOR) and sending it to the Client, then monitoring its processing by the Client.
- Ongoing communication and coordination with the HO design lead(s)
- Leading the HO team in updating models (where necessary)
- Participation in the life of the resident team on site, in particular the other members of the resident team responsible for monitoring Civil works
- Contributing to the monthly activity report.
The role will involve skills for leading communication and coordination between the DJV and the EM Contractor, as well as assisting the Main Contractor in resolving potential issues and managing any change requests that may arise on site.
Who you are
You are graduated with a Master’s degree in engineering, specialising in civil engineering or E&M .
You are a 10 year experience engineer, including 1 experience on site. Mandatory experience of managing interface between concrete works and other type of works (if possible EM Equipment) at site
