About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Customer Operations, the Billing & Payments Lead is responsible for leading ENGIE Retail’s billing, payments and revenue assurance function. The role ensures accurate, timely and compliant billing outcomes, strong financial performance and a positive customer experience across the end‑to‑end revenue lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead billing, payments and revenue assurance operations to deliver accurate, timely and compliant customer outcomes across pre‑ and post‑billable activities.
- Own and improve critical billing and revenue metrics, including billing readiness, unbilled volumes, metering performance and revenue leakage.
- Lead and develop internal teams and external delivery partners, ensuring service levels, quality standards and regulatory obligations are consistently met.
- Partner closely with Sales, Digital and operational stakeholders to identify and resolve billing readiness issues, improve conversion and uplift revenue capture.
- Manage operational risk and compliance across billing, metering and customer processes, acting as control owner for key regulatory obligations.
- Drive continuous improvement across processes, systems and customer journeys, using data‑driven insights to improve efficiency, accuracy and experience.
About You
You bring extensive experience in retail energy operations, with a strong track record across billing, payments, metering and revenue assurance in complex, high‑volume environments. You are a confident people leader who can lead operational teams and partners, manage risk and compliance, and translate data into practical improvements.
- Deep knowledge of retail energy billing and revenue processes, including pre‑ and post‑billable workflows and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience leading operational or BPO teams, with a focus on performance, capability uplift and service quality.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex issues and implement sustainable solutions.
- Experience managing commercial and contractual performance of external partners against SLAs and obligations.
- The ability to collaborate and influence across Sales, Digital, Compliance and external market participants.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with strong communication skills and a commitment to safety, compliance and customer outcomes.
