What You Can Expect

As the Senior Plant Engineer your key role is to troubleshoot and resolve issues on our assets.  This may take some collaboration with various team members to enhance plant performance. This includes proactive identification through data analysis and system monitoring, as well as reactive responses to breakdowns requiring onsite support.

While occasional onsite visits are part of the role, your primary focus will be designing solutions behind a computer, utilizing SCADA systems, engineering tools, and Excel. You'll work with a dispersed team of engineers across Canada and North America.

 

Your duties also involve supporting site safety and environmental systems, contributing to North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) compliance, and leading planning of on-site electrical maintenance. Additionally, you'll develop business cases for your work and communicate technical details to non-technical stakeholders.

 

This position is primarily remote, with occasional office availability, and requires travel to Southern Ontario sites between Windsor, ON, and Brockville, ON up to 25% of the time.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Either already registered as a Professional Engineer or eligible to be registered as an Engineer-in-Training in Ontario
  • At least five (5) years of experience in an industrial setting, demonstrating expertise in power generation, transmission, and distribution equipment. This includes familiarity with areas such as protection and control, high-voltage apparatus, overhead lines, and SCADA systems
  • Experience in independent planning, scheduling, and project management

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy, with the expectation of onsite work as required but primarily remote. Office space is available at ENGIE offices
  • Must be available to travel internationally for company meetings and training activities up to 3 times a year for weeklong trip.
  • Must possess a valid Canadian driver’s license/clean driving record
  • May require usage of a company vehicle on site or in travel for company business
  • Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE’s policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing 
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies 

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $83,000.00– $120,865.00 CAD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
