What You Can Expect
The internship work term will be from January 2025 – May 2025, part-time or full-time work schedule working between 20 to 40 hours per week.
As a Financial Reporting and Audit intern, you will be responsible for supporting ENGIE Canada and ENGIE North America’s financial reporting and compliance team in coordinating external audits to meet statutory and partnership reporting requirements. Provide assistances in financial statement preparation, variance analysis and notes disclosures.
- Compile and update financial statements and supporting documents for audit and regulatory compliance
- Variance analysis on selected expenses and revenue accounts
- Assist in addressing internal and external inquiries, and respond in a timely manner
- Assist in updating audited financial statements rollforward and supporting documents
- Assist in monthly and quarterly financial statements for various partnership entities
- Participate in various process improvements to achieve greater efficiencies
- Carry out other duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring
- Completed 1-3 years of a post-secondary degree with major in Accounting and/or Finance, or any related disciplines
- Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
- Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, both written and verbally
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of accounting principles and standards
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel and Word), detail oriented and able to work accurately on multiple assignments on a timely basis
- Ability to work independently in a demanding changing environment and remain flexible on priorities
- Comply with all ENGIE policies and procedures
Additional Details
- For this position, you must have evidence of right to work in Canada
- Interns must be enrolled students in good standing at the commencement of the intern semester
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation
Hourly Range: $20.50 - $33.00 CAD hourly
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
