As an Asset Management Advisor in Markham, you will manage a set of Canadian assets holistically. Asset Management includes the management of commercial strategies, including the coordination of implementation of those strategies, development and coordination of asset optimization projects, tracking of profitability of the asset, contract understanding, landowner relationships, and general overall operational purview. You will have several assets under management potentially in different independent system operators (ISOs) and different technologies (onshore wind, solar, and battery storage).
What You Can Expect
Every day, in this role you will be responsible for:
Analyzing Profit & Loss: Understand the main drivers of your portfolio and implement action plans to optimize performance. Develop and maintain gross margin assumptions for each asset for annual business plans, business interruption insurance planning, and other internal forecasting efforts
Managing Contracts: Oversee all aspects of contract management, including negotiations, invoicing, and payments as required
Interact with Trading/Energy Management: Provide a risk mandate for daily bidding to the ENGIE Trading / Energy Management organization
Lead on ISO Protocols: Take charge of Independent System Operator protocols, regulation and market fundamentals, and ensure accuracy and consistency of monthly, quarterly, and annual operational reporting for individual assets
Collaborate Across Teams: Ensure a high level of collaboration with other geo-dispersed teams, leveraging organizational capabilities in Operations, Finance, Legal, Trading, and Power Marketing
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in which you have completed courses in Business, Economics, Engineering or Business Administration
A minimum of seven (7) years of total professional experience in a similar role
Commercial acumen with good understanding of business principles, contracts, and relationships including specific experience with power purchase agreements and operational agreements
Deadline driven with project management skills for cross-organizational coordination and business process improvement initiatives
Analytical and problem solving skills including advanced Excel skills
Desire to advance the adoption and deployment of renewable energy solutions across North America
