What You Can Expect

As our Accounting Manager, you will oversee all financial accounting and reporting activities for ENGIE North America-Canada's corporate and Renewables entities, spanning both development and operational phases. This role includes supervising and developing three (3) direct reports. You will  also be involved in complex technical accounting for acquisitions and divestitures, special reporting for twelve (12) operating projects with external suppliers, audit requirements, and partnership reporting. This position is based in Markham, Ontario Canada, and reports to the Accounting Director, Global Business Services (GBS).

 

 

  • Manage monthly close process, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis for accurate and timely reporting
  • Oversee compilation and submission of financial statements and reporting packages
  • Determine accounting treatment for project costs and complex transactions, collaborating with Technical Accounting
  • Supervise and develop accounting staff, maintain control procedures, and drive process improvements

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

  • A minimum of seven (7) years’ of relevant accounting experience in financial reporting, settlements, or Partnership Reporting
  • You are CPA certified or in progress towards certification
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office Products including advanced Excel, Finance/Accounting software packages such as SAP S4 HANA and Adaptive Insight
  • You are an individual with excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, capable of managing multiple assignments accurately and on time
  • You are deadline-driven with project management skills for cross-organizational coordination, with business intelligence reporting products and strong technical knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be available to travel domestically / internationally up to 20% of the time with the need for some overnight trips
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

 

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $96,000 – $134,820 CAD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
