Purpose of the job;

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the day‐to‐day, the planned and the long-term mechanical, electrical, civil, instrumentation and controls maintenance, quality control, asset integrity and maintenance engineering whilst directing the activity of all maintenance personnel for the safe, efficient operation of the entire facility. He ensures that all plant maintenance is accomplished in authorized plans, procedures, schedules and budgets.

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for scheduling and directing the activities of his team.

The maintenance manager will keep the shareholders informed about important and relevant events. He will be responsible for the implementation and follow up of the shareholders objectives, policies and requirements, considering the point of view of the other shareholder.

He will replace the General Manager in his absence & will be on call 24hours / day with backup from the Operations Manager.

Reporting line

The Maintenance Manager will report to the Plant General Manager.

Key Accountabilities;

• Direct the implementation of established maintenance procedures.
• Direct the maintenance engineering in order to assure the long-term asset integrity of the plant.
• Update the shareholders about all the important issues of the plant
• Implement shareholders requirements were applicable
• Participate in shareholders meetings and networking group.
• Initiate the scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance of all plant, equipment, machinery, facilities and other physical assets related to his function.
• o           Review and recommend maintenance plans, procedures and schedules in order to maintain the long-term asset integrity of the plant.
• o        Implement necessary established schedules for the proper maintenance and allocation of manpower, material, machinery and equipment resources assigned to the plant.
• Develop, guide and follow-up the implementation of work safety procedures and practices.
• o            Maintain such communications and relations as are necessary to report on the status of matters requiring action and to ensure that corrective action is planned and undertaken.
• Evaluate and provide recommendations on maintenance methods, procedures and schedules.
• o            Receive and evaluate pertinent reports, relating to cost and progress of maintenance activities on the plant and transmit analysis to the Plant Manager.
• Prepare and respect the maintenance budget
• Manage the LTSA
• Provide the maintenance inputs to the daily, monthly, yearly and incident reports.
• Directly guide, manage, supervise and assume responsibility for the performance of the maintenance personnel reporting to him/her.
• Set maintenance objectives, performance indicators in line with the Business plan, monitors progress and provide steering in order to achieve or surpass the set objectives. Implement lessons learned processes and other activities to achieve a learning organization.
• Control maintenance operations and take any necessary corrective action   compliance with approved plans and budgets.
• Work closely with outside inspection and overhaul contractors and provide them with all necessary support.
• Implement established policies and procedures for the purchasing or requisitioning of material from stores. Maintains, and make recommendations regarding, and update list of recommended spare parts.
• Prepare and establish long term, annual and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Maintain appropriate records of maintenance activities.
• Review and recommend maintenance methods and procedures.
• Implement the UAE localization Program in the Maintenance Department.
• Approve the training program for the Maintenance Department employees

Education         

•            Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.

Language

•            Fluency in spoken and written English is mandatory.

•            Knowledge of Arabic is a plus.

Experience

•            10 years’ experience in the maintenance of a large power plant, at least 3 years should have been in the capacity of Maintenance Manager. Must have gas turbine/combined cycle experience.
