We are currently looking for a Tax Specialist.

Mission
Ensure timely and accurate compliance with the tax obligations of the various ENGIE companies in Spain, under the direct supervision of the Head of Tax/Tax Manger. Prepare any required tax returns and submit them to the corresponding Tax Authorities. Draft responses to tax authority requests. Manage notifications from the Tax Authorities and provide support to other company areas on tax-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the payment of all taxes applicable to the company and prepare the corresponding tax returns at the state level (VAT, personal income tax withholdings, Corporate Income Tax, Tax on the Value of Electricity Production, Excise Duties, etc.), regional level (wastewater discharge taxes, emissions, wind levies, etc.) and local level (public domain occupation fees, Property Tax, Economic Activities Tax, Construction/Installation/Works Tax, etc.). Provide support in preparing transfer pricing documentation and reviewing/monitoring intercompany transactions subject to documentation.
  • Manage any procedures related to registering the company for tax purposes before the Tax Authorities.
  • Handle requests received from the Tax Authorities.
  • Manage all notifications received from the Tax Authorities.
  • Contact the Tax Authorities whenever necessary and under the supervision of the Head of Tax
  • Provide support in any tax audits carried out in any of the ENGIE group companies.
  • Inform the organization of potential tax developments and assist in implementing these in internal systems.
  • Review the systems used to extract relevant information for preparing different tax filings and propose improvements where applicable.
  • Provide support in preparing transfer pricing documentation and reviewing/monitoring intercompany transactions subject to documentation.

 

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or similar.

Technical Skills: 

  • Proficiency in accounting software.
  • Basic user knowledge of SAP
  • Basic tax knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of transfer pricing regulations

 

Languages: English: B2 (Upper Intermediate).

 

Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in the Tax Area of a company, law firm or consultancy, performing tax compliance tasks.

Valuable experience in the Energy Sector.

  • Adaptability & learning mindset: Openness to regulatory changes and willingness to grow professionally in the tax area.
