About S&EM Iberia
Supply & Energy Management Iberia (“S&EM Iberia”) is a local Business Platform (BP) of ENGIE S&EM Global Business Unit. The Business Platform is active across Energy Management (Asset Optimization and Trading) and Client’s businesses (Wholesale and B2B), with presence in Spain (mature footprint) and Portugal (under development). The entity is composed of 90 highly skilled energy professionals from 12 nationalities, with a solid expertise in Iberian power and gas markets. In 2024, S&EM Iberia provided integrated Energy Management services (short to long term) for ENGIE’s 7.7GW renewables and low-carbon generation asset base in the region (hydro, wind, solar, CCGTs).
About the team (SPM, Supply Portfolio Management):
The Supply Portfolio Management (SPM) team plays a key role in managing the energy supply business to end clients in Spain, covering a wide range of activities and closely collaborating with other areas within the organization. We are currently in full expansion, with an ambitious strategic project to boost the growth and robustness of the supply activity. This involves expanding the team, optimizing systems, and attracting new clients.
The main responsibilities of the team are divided into the following areas:
Pricing
- Product Development: creation and launch of new products and services.
- Pricing Methodology: Define and implement pricing strategies to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
- Offer Management: Structure commercial proposals for clients.
- Contracting: Manage the formalization of contracts.
- Pipeline Analysis: Monitor and evaluate commercial offers, tracking success rates, and provide insights on overall portfolio performance.
Portfolio Representation
- Contract and portfolio management and representation in our internal Trade Management System
- Reporting: Produce detailed reports on P&L, Risk, Finance, and portfolio.
- Portfolio Management: Administer and optimize portfolio performance.
- Hedging Strategy: Develop and execute strategies to mitigate market and credit risks.
- Risk Mandate and management: First established and then ensure compliance with risk policies and limits.
Data
- Grid Data: manage the demand/consumption data coming from the TSO/DSOs.
- Team Data Owner: Act as the main responsible for managing and ensuring the quality of team data.
- CDH: Use the internal CDH platform for data management.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of all processes and data.
Forecasting
- Short-Term Forecasting: Demand forecast for the day ahead purchase
- Medium-Term Forecasting: Medium-Term demand forecast for portfolio optimization
What We Are Looking For
An ambitious “acceleration plan” has been defined for the B2B Supply activity in Iberia. This plan aligns with S&EM’s ambition to grow its Supply business (B2B + B2C) to 300 TWh of energy sales by 2030 worldwide (+40% vs. 2024).
In this context, we are looking for someone to lead and manage the areas of Pricing and Portfolio Representation of SPM team in Iberia. A versatile and adaptable professional who thrives in a constantly evolving environment. Someone eager to be part of a dynamic and expanding team and ready to take on a role with significant opportunities for development and professional growth. This role includes people management responsibilities, ensuring proper objective setting for the area and team members, tasks assignment, continuous guidance and oversight in individual and team’s operations, people development and performance monitoring.
As we are undergoing a digital transformation and adopting a data-driven approach, we need a candidate with strong data skills, capable of analyzing information and extracting insights to support decision-making.
The key skills and competencies we expect you to bring include:
- Degree in Engineering, Sciences, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience in the energy supply business, particularly in risk management, hedging strategies, and portfolio management.
- Solid knowledge of energy markets, pricing mechanisms, and risk management, with a strong focus on the electricity market (knowledge of gas is a plus).
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with experience in data analysis and visualization tools (Power BI, Dataiku), databases, and/or Python.
- High attention to detail, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
- Proactivity and autonomy, with the ability to set priorities and drive initiatives forward.
- Excellent people skills and ambition to lead and develop a team.
- Team-oriented mindset and humble attitude, focused on collaboration and creating value for the group.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Professional proficiency in Spanish and English.
