The mission of the Europe Senior Global Lead Buyer is to support the Wind Turbine Category Manager in defining the strategic procurement vision for the Europe R&B area, ensuring ENGIE entities obtain optimal procurement conditions for maintenance services. The role oversees the operational execution of procurement across all projects, ensuring alignment with the area’s strategy and objectives to maximize supplier value.

In close collaboration with Business Development and Operational Excellence teams, while also managing supplier qualification, relationships and performance alongside project and operations managers.

Main Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement

  • Maintain up-to-date visibility on the BD pipeline, service contract expiries, and equipment RFQ planning to feed procurement strategies.
  • Support the Group Category Manager with market intelligence and strategy definition, especially for services.
  • Implement procurement strategies, frame agreements lead negotiation, and processes in the assigned perimeter, providing training when needed.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and report findings to the Category Manager.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement strategy and processes through regular feedback.
  • Support supplier qualification and manage supplier relationships.
  • to ensure Procurement coordination with the Ocean Winds (OW) procurement organization, liaising on regular basis with the OW Chief Procurement Officer
  • Ensure consistent use of the standard Supply contractual framework across all R&F operational areas and keep it regularly updated.

Operational Procurement (Source to Contract)

  • Contribute to Project Contracting Strategies, ensuring alignment with Category Procurement Strategy.
  • Define RFQ strategies for key equipment together with BD, O&M, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead RFQ processes—including negotiations—for key equipment supply and service agreements, ensuring compliance with governance, H&S, and CSR policies.
  • Prepare and document Sourcing strategy, Selection Analysis & Recommendation with BD/PM and secure required approvals.
  • Prepare project agreements for local signature.
  • Support project and operations managers in contract management and supplier relationship management.
  • Provide guidance, amange the resources and support to other Global Lead Buyers in Europe for tender processes.

Coordination & Interfaces

With Local Procurement / CPO

  • Provide visibility on RFQs, selections, and contracts to facilitate global oversight and PO approval.
  • Comply with Ariba contract approval processes.
  • Participate in regional procurement events and trainings organized by the CPO.

With Project Procurement Managers

Coordinate the integration of pooled needs from other GBUs into sourcing strategies to optimize conditions for all.

Coordinate actions toward global key suppliers to support operations.

 

Education, Experience & Skills – Summary

Profile Requirements

  • Academic background with solid knowledge of industrial project procurement and project management and should be comfortable working with technical topics.
  • Availability to travel within Europe (~20%).

Required Experience

  • 10–15 years of experience in procurement and/or project‑related roles (PM, BD, sales, contract management).
  • Strong negotiation capabilities, including complex contract negotiations.
  • Experience working in multicultural and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Background in renewable energy, specifically in wind technology, ideally onshore wind.
