Our ambition:

At ENGIE S&EM Iberia, data, analytics and AI are at the core of our ambition to become the Best Digital Utility in Iberia. Our Data, AI & Advanced Analytics team (D3A), composed of data scientists and digital talents, runs at the forefront of this digital transformation and we are hiring its manager.

This role combines strategy, delivery and hands-on leadership, with direct exposure to trading, sales and P&L. It is a unique opportunity to take a central, visible and decisive part in building what will be one of the most advanced data, analytics and AI capabilities in the global utilities sector.

You will work as the right hand of the CDAIO, translating strategy into measurable business impact, and embedding analytics, models and agents deeply into trading, short-term markets and B2B operations.

Your goal: turn data, models and AI into P&L, resilience and competitive advantage.

Your area: S&EM Iberia Data, Advanced Analytics and AI (D3A):

Lead the end‑to‑end strategy, delivery and industrialization of data, governance, BI, advanced analytics, and AI (incl. GenAI/agentic) for S&EM Iberia.

Collaborate closely with the business units and rest of central teams, foster a data-driven culture, industrialize high‑value use cases, and ensure tight partnership with IT to deliver reliable, sustainable & scalable solutions and measurable business impact.

Your scope & responsibilities:

1. Strategy & impact

  • Execute our strategic Data, Analytics & AI roadmap for S&EM Iberia, aligned with global S&EM and ENGIE guidelines.
  • Prioritize high-value use cases and transformation initiatives with clear ROI (forecasting, optimization, trading support, risk, commercial, GenAI/agents).
  • Ensure end-to-end ownership: from idea to production, adoption and value realization.
  • You are embracing the emerging technologies and striving to innovate with purpose.

2. Data, platforms & governance

  • Own the data governance operating model (owners, stewards, quality, lineage, access, AI/agents governance) and ensure consistency with S&EM Data strategy
  • Partner closely with IT and Data Engineers to evolve the data & AI platform (cloud, ingestion, time series, MDM, feature stores, MLOps, security).
  • Ensure scalability, reliability and sustainability of solutions.

3. Analytics, models & AI

  • Scale self-service BI and semantic models (e.g. Power BI).
  • Industrialize forecasting, optimization and simulation models and support their integration into business processes
  • Introduce GenAI and agentic solutions where they truly create business value (no hype). Strengthen contextual data frameworks and governance so AI agents operate with business‑aware logic, leveraging real‑time signals, metadata and domain rules to enhance reliability, compliance and automation performance.
  • Manage a portfolio of locally developed corporate and external solutions.
  • Foster collaboration with internal & external innovation hubs (universities, startups,…)

4. Business partnership

  • Work daily with Trading, Short-Term Trading, B2B and FinOps, providing real-time insights, tools and decision support.
  • Act as single point of contact for data & models for S&EM Iberian business units and central peers.
  • Manage relationships and contracts with external parties when needed.
  • Integrate regulatory constraints into data products and models.

5. Leadership & culture

  • Build, lead and coach a high-performing multidisciplinary team (BI, data scientists, AI – data engineers in collaboration with IT).
  • Foster a data-driven, product-oriented and delivery-focused culture.
  • Develop talent, communities of practice and knowledge sharing across countries.

You are:

  • An experienced leader in data/analytics (10+ years), with 5+ years building and guiding multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong background in data engineering, analytics, ML/AI and quantitative modeling.

  • You have proven experience in data governance, BI, cloud data platforms (Azure/AWS/Google, Databricks), and AI/GenAI governance.
  • You are comfortable coding in Python and want to be close to the data and models to challenge and guide the team.
  • If you have experience in energy markets this is a plus (trading, short-term markets, risk, B2B)!.
  • You have a strong delivery mindset: from strategy to production and impact.
  • You have a deeply data-driven mindset (no hype!).
  • You are curious, pragmatic, and eager to test new technologies with purpose.
