Purpose of the job:

 

Too lead the reporting and prepae complex management business information for the Energy Supply business and ensure all outputs of the area are accurate, timely and understood by key stakeholders.

 

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Prepare and analyze business PnL with detailed variance analysis against Budget, Best Estimates, and Prior Year financials.
  • Coordinate regular and ad-hoc management reporting requests, ensuring accountability and clear communication of deadlines within the department.
  • Support commercial decisions made by Management teams, focusing on revenue enhancement, protection, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate management reporting, supplemented by insightful commentaries.
  • Review consolidated monthly management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS accounting standards and ENGIE Group accounting policies.
  • Take ownership of the Group financial reporting process, including data submission into systems like FINOPS.
  • Assist with statutory financial reporting by resolving external auditor requests and providing required statutory accounting inputs.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting activities, coordinating inputs, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
  • Monitor external changes, including regulatory, industry, and accounting standard changes, and evaluate their impact on ENGIE.
  • Manage financial reporting requests from regulators and other external entities.
  • Adhere to internal processes and risk frameworks while driving system, process, and policy improvements.
  • Deliver improved processes and enhance the quality of management reporting continuously.
  • Ensure financial data accuracy and integrity by implementing robust controls and procedures.
  • Contribute to process automation initiatives.
  • Provide support for the economic/accounting P&L reconciliation and control of pre-injection data.

 

 

 

Outcome, Results and Key Performance Indicators:

 

  • Preparation and Follow Up of the business PnL
  • Monthly management accounts and variance analysis, EBIT, CAPEX and CFFO.
  • Annual budgets and monthly forecasts
  • Completion of group and sector reporting submissions
  • Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations and supporting documentation
  • Management Commentaries
  • Process improvement

 

 

 

Key relationships:

 

  • Internal : Executive Team, S&EM Finance, Corporate Finance, Energy Trading, Commercial Team, Legal, Risk and Corporate Tax
  • External : External Auditors, others


Knowledge and skills:

 

The job holder will have:

 

  • Ablity to report complex financial performance to a wide ranging audience.
  • Highly numerate.
  • Verbal reasoning.
  • Ability to produce accurate work within tight deadlines.
  • Able to demonstrate a practical approach to problem solving.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of the Energy Industry.
  • English written and oral is a must
  • Knowledge/or interest of IT tools such as PowerBI or Python
  • Must have a good knowledge of office tools like Excel and have interest and good understanding of information systems used (e.g. SAP, ETRM systems, SMART).

 

 

 

Experience:

 

The job holder will have:

 

  • Experience of more than 5 years in a finance orientated role within the energy sector is a must

 

  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a complex and dynamic environment
  • Practical experience of business controlling

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Degree level (or equivalent)
  • Qualified accountant or Bachelor administrator
