Our Project Managers play a critical role in delivering complex engineering consulting projects, building client relationships, supporting business growth initiatives, and ensuring successful project execution across a variety of markets and technologies.

What You'll Do

Depending on the opportunity, Project Managers may:

  • Lead the delivery of engineering, consulting, and infrastructure projects from proposal through execution and closeout.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and client expectations.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams located across Canada and internationally.
  • Support business development activities, including proposal development, client engagement, presentations, and market expansion initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with utility, industrial, government, and private-sector clients.
  • Monitor project financial performance and resource allocation.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, technical, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with technical experts across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Support contract negotiations, change management, procurement activities, and project reporting.
  • Contribute to the continued growth of Tractebel's presence in the Canadian market.
  • Mentor junior project managers and technical professionals while promoting project management best practices.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in project management, engineering consulting, infrastructure, energy, construction, or industrial project environments.
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, deliverables, stakeholders, and project teams.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proficiency with project management software and common business applications.
  • Fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng. / ing.) designation or eligibility to obtain registration.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management credentials.
  • Experience supporting projects in hydropower, nuclear, renewable energy, transmission and distribution, water resources, or other infrastructure sectors.
  • Experience in engineering consulting or EPC environments.
  • Business development, proposal management, or client account management experience.
  • Knowledge of Canadian utility, energy, and infrastructure markets.
  • Fluency in French is highly desirable, particularly for opportunities within Québec.
  • Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce or similar client management systems.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers, project managers, or multidisciplinary project teams.

Additional Details

  • This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
  • Travel to client sites, project locations, industry conferences, and Tractebel offices may be required.
  • Candidates must possess strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Flexibility to support project schedules and client requirements.
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics, compliance, and safety standards.

Compensation will vary based on the specific position, work location, education, experience, and qualifications of the selected candidate.
