Job Overview
The Data Analyst is part of a team responsible for making powerful insights for action from our unique, extensive and rich dataset of customers and driving improvements in our approach to data gathering, analytics and reports generated. This role will help generate data insights which will make a meaningful impact to the central and country teams by enabling them to make faster and smarter business decisions to improve efficiency and identify business opportunities that will drive business profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Performance Analysis and Reporting:
-
Summarize daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly performance by creating informative reports for audiences.

Design and own interactive dashboards that summarize monthly and quarterly sales, credit and customer experience performance and data trends.

Lead the development of formal reports for the central and country teams which includes weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual performance
-
Support with ad-hoc or regular data requests from stakeholders including but not limited to the central team, country teams, the Board and Investors through informative dashboards, analyses and reports

Data Management:
-
Ensure custom country data tables are created, maintained and up to date.

Design analytical and reporting frameworks to make complex data easy to understand and drive decision making for the teams

Evaluate the results from tests, pilots, and campaigns run in country with recommendations on improvements.

Create best-practice reports based on data mining, analysis, and visualization

Inform Business Decisions:
-
Identify trends and opportunities for growth through analysis of complex data sets
-
Highlight insights, opportunities, areas of improvement and recommendations to decision makers in markets and at the central team related to projects or overall performance.

Knowledge and skills
Experience:
-
3 years professional experience in data analysis, preferably in energy access, asset financing, microfinance etc.

High level of competency with analysis and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data
-
Organized and able to follow through and prioritize tasks
-
Ability to synthesize complex information from different sources and to distinguish important information from details
-
Strong ability to work with large amounts of data to develop strategies and make rigorous decisions
-
Experience as a collaborative, hands on team player and eagerness to learn new tools and / or roll-up sleeves to get the job done.

Exceptional verbal, written and visual communication skills

Self-starter and ability to work independently
Qualifications:
-
Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in a related/quantitative subject such as computer science, statistics.

Data Analytics qualification
Technology:
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Proven experience with data analytics and visualization tools (Power BI and Tableau) is mandatory for this role.

Proven experience using SQL and Advanced Excel
