Dimensions of job:
- Leadership responsibility for a team of 6 originators
- If qualified the job can be extended to the oversight of Portfolio Management and Global Market Analysis functions.
- Significant commercial impact through management of high-value, long-term energy contracts and structured transactions.
- Operates within a fast-moving, complex wholesale energy market environment with multiple products, assets, and stakeholders.
- High degree of autonomy with accountability to EM UK senior leadership.
- Accountable for sustainable revenue growth, margin generation, and commercial performance of the origination platform.
- Balances short-term commercial opportunities with long-term value creation and risk discipline.
- Sets clear objectives, monitors KPIs, and ensures consistent execution across the origination and portfolio management teams.
- Takes ownership of complex, high-value transactions and sees them through to successful delivery.
- Actively participate in deal-making: the Head of Origination is expected to be hands-on, managing their own client relationships and transactions, as well as supporting team members with complex or strategic deals.

Experience:
The job holder will have:
- Significant experience (+10 years) in energy origination or energy risk management within gas and power wholesale Markets.
- Proven track record of originating, structuring and executing complex energy transactions.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing senior commercial professionals proving excellent social skills and ability to operate in a demanding environment.
- Experience working with or within large, international energy or commodity organisations

Qualifications:
- Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Engineering, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or Energy-related field).
- Postgraduate qualification (MBA or equivalent) or professional certifications are advantageous.
