We are seeking an ambitious, driven Assistant Project Manager (Onshore Wind, Industrial Solar PV and BESS) to join our dynamic team.

This is a hybrid role assigned to our London office. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
Purpose of role
The Assistant Project Manager will provide technical project management support for Onshore Wind, Industrial Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects from contract signature / Final Investment Approval to completion, helping to ensure delivery on time, on budget and within agreed scope.
The job holder will ensure high health, safety and environmental compliance is upheld in accordance with ENGIE processes and procedures.
Providing technical and commercial support during construction contract development (EPC,FIDIC,etc), tendering and negotiation process.
Managing a pipeline of projects, allowing the opportunity to deliver an increasingly important and rapidly growing new technology projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production of detailed project budget, alongside the business development lead.
- Development, tendering and negotiation of construction contracts (EPC,FIDIC etc), alongside the business development lead.
- Develop, control and manage the project schedule and ensuring all assigned projects and tasks are completed against their scope, on time and within budget.
- Manage the relationship with the Principal Contractor and with other key stakeholders (DNO, Owner’s Engineer, Landowner, Local Council, Optimiser)
- Liaise with contractor site managers, ENGIE site staff and Owner’s Engineer staff , track construction progress, conduct site visits, and prepare progress reports.
- Perform risk assessments and proactively solve any technical or commercial issues identified.
- Ensure that ENGIE’s Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental standards are delivered.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Handover of the project to the operations and maintenance team.
- Assist the Construction Director to ensure availability and allocation of resources.
- Provide support to Construction Director, where required. Examples of potential additional support include:
- Contribution to due diligence efforts for project acquisitions or developments
- Contribution to CAPEX and OPEX benchmarking for future projects
Knowledge and Skills
- Detailed understanding of project management for electricity related construction projects.
- Understanding of EPC,FIDIC (or equivalent) structures and tendering processes.
- Ability to proactively work to deadlines with multiple contractors on any given project.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Excellent written English, including preparation of reports, presentations and data.
- Proficiency in MS Office 365 with advanced knowledge of power-point, excel, MS Project and Sharepoint.
- Experience in use of Procore is an advantage.
- Understanding of operational and maintenance requirements of Onshore Wind, Solar PV or BESS systems and equipment is an advantage.
- Knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations and equivalent Irish regulations.
Experience
- Experience in project management of electricity related construction projects (up to 5 years).
- Experience in UK/Ireland Onshore Wind, Solar PV or BESS construction projects is an advantage.
- Experience with EPC/FIDIC procurement processes and resolution of ongoing contractual issues.
- Experience of working in a construction environment and control of the associated health and safety risks.
- A desire to work in a fast moving and growing business to deliver the expected business outcomes.
Qualifications:
- University Degree in electrical, mechanical or civil engineering.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP, Prince II, MBA) is an advantage.
