As Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering the site's mechanical asset strategy, ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of critical plant and equipment. Working closely with the Section Head, you will optimise asset performance, manage engineering risks and drive maintenance improvements that support both short and long-term business objectives. You will also provide expert technical support to the maintenance team, developing practical solutions to complex engineering challenges and helping maximise plant reliability, availability and value.

Summary of what you will do

- Plan, develop, and deliver plant refurbishment, maintenance, and replacement projects within budget

- Manage contractors and organise resources to meet business plan targets and KPIs

- Assess, negotiate, and manage contracts, acting as Technical Officer with growing autonomy

- Provide expert technical advice and develop innovative solutions within your plant specialism

- Conduct residual life assessments and advise on risk management and plant integrity

- Investigate and resolve plant-level performance issues using modern inspection and maintenance techniques

- Support the Section Head in developing and reviewing the asset management and maintenance strategy

What you will bring to the role

- A degree or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering or a related discipline

- Proven experience in plant engineering, asset management, or industrial maintenance

- Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multidisciplinary work

- Solid understanding of health, safety, environmental, and quality management requirements

- Experience managing contractors and working within defined budgets and timelines

- Analytical mindset with the ability to diagnose complex plant problems and propose solutions

- A collaborative approach and the ability to contribute effectively in cross-functional teams

This is a fully on-site role based in Llanberis, North Wales.
