As an EC&I Craftsperson, you will maintain essential power station equipment that supports the UK's journey to decarbonized electricity. Your expertise will directly contribute to operational excellence and plant availability at one of our First Hydro Company sites.

Summary of what you will do

- Maintain critical control, instrumentation and electrical plant through routine preventative and breakdown maintenance activities.

- Perform fault diagnosis on complex systems and deliver effective solutions to technical challenges.

- Carry out plant modifications, electrical installations, inspection, testing and certification.

- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and plant history using the works management system.

- Lead working parties of up to seven staff members on key maintenance activities.

- Hold safety responsibilities as an FHC Acceptor and National Grid Safety Rules Competent Person.

- Liaise with production teams to ensure safe, effective handover of work and operational continuity.

What you will bring to the role

- Completed apprenticeship in a relevant electrical or C&I discipline.

- City & Guilds Part III, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant discipline.

- IOSH Working Safely Certificate and current IEE Regulations qualification.

- Considerable experience maintaining control and instrumentation systems and heavy electrical plant.

- Practical knowledge of HV and LV switchgear, electrical installation testing and fault finding.

- Familiarity with PUWER, LOLER and EH&S legislation requirements.

- Strong problem-solving skills with accuracy and attention to detail.

- BTEC National Certificate or PAT Testing C&G 2337 qualification is desirable.

Location

This is an on-site role based at a First Hydro Company site in North Wales. You may occasionally be required to work at other FHC or ENGIE sites.
