Then this position as Wind Expert Aeroelastic Modelling is for you! You’ll join the Wind & Ocean Cluster at Laborelec, a team of about 13 colleagues, where you’ll play a key role in both operational projects and research & innovation.
Our team combines operational expertise with research and innovation. We are active in the field (onshore & offshore), analyze mechanical data, and develop new methods to optimize wind turbine lifetime. The atmosphere is open, eager to learn, and international.
YOUR RESPONSABILITIES as Wind Expert Aeroelastic Modelling
- Analyze wind farm data (SCADA, sensors) to monitor the structural integrity of wind turbines.
- Develop and apply aeroelastic models to evaluate the impact of wind loads on turbine components.
- Conduct field visits to investigate incidents and collect data.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues from various areas of expertise and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the further development of tools and methods for lifetime estimation and risk management.
- Identify new project opportunities and translate observations into innovative solutions.
YOUR PROFILE as Wind Expert Aeroelastic Modelling
- Master of Science in electromechanical or mechanical engineering, with a strong interest in wind energy.
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience, ideally combining fieldwork and data analysis.
- Experience with SCADA data, Python programming, and aeroelastic simulations.
- Hands-on, eager to learn, and solution-oriented.
- Knowledge in wind technology and dynamic behaviour.
- You have already faced unexpected problems in the field and know how to combine procedures with an exploratory approach.
- Fluent in English; you understand Dutch and/or French
- Willing to travel for short assignments in Belgium and Europe
- Strong in both operational and research aspects, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Extraverted, inspiring, and motivated to contribute to an open and diverse team culture.
- Any additional experience in wind flow modelling and wind measurements is highly appreciated.
