ENGIE Laborelec is a research and expertise center focused on electrical power technology, with a team of over 370 employees from different background. We are part of the ENGIE Group, and more particular the newly created entity called ENGIE Research & Innovation. About the team


The Power and Infrastructure Business Line manages a large portfolio of activities related to thermal power generation and transport/distribution of electricity.   A key topic is the energy transition and the sustainability of the energy supply.


The Water and Chemistry team of the Business Line Power and Infra is active in the following technical domains:

Cooling water chemistry

Production of demineralized water

Water and steam cycle chemistry


Water as a feedstock for new energy systems

Sustainable water management (reuse, recycle, recovery)


The experts of the team develop deep understanding and experience of those technical domains in order to:

  • Offer operational expertise to both power assets and industries to anticipate and solve technical problems they can meet, improve their operational excellence and prepare them for future challenges. We perform consultancy like missions at our customer sites as well as troubleshooting interventions.
  • Perform research programs for ENGIE, where we are:
  • Map, assess, test and de-risking disruptive technologies
  • Support the business units in return on experience consolidation and practices uniformization
  • Bring Innovation for A to Z optimization through own and co-development : innovative monitoring, modelling and forecasting



What you’ll be doing


Your responsibilities as Water Chemistry Medior Expert:

•       Actively participate in the execution of service activities remotely or at customer site to optimize their processes, carry out troubleshooting activities,…

•       Play an active role  in the research activities of the teams and development of new expertise/competences.

You will be able to develop new competences and experience in other fields of water based on the strategy of the team.

You will be required to intervene on industrial sites in Belgium and abroad.

You will work alongside a supportive team, and will have access to professional development opportunities to help you grow in your career.

-       Have a chemistry engineering degree or an equivalent experience

-       Have at least 5 years of experience in one or several of the technical domains mentioned above.

-       Demonstrate customer-focus, creativity and ability to solve complex problems by providing innovative and high value-added solutions..

-       Possess good communication skills. You communicate effectively about the solutions you have developed

-       Know how to organize, being a team player, with a capable of working on your own

-       Have a good command of English and French or Dutch, with a willingness to improve.

-       Agree to travel in Europe and Middle-East for short term missions (1 to 2 weeks about 10 times per year).
