About the team
The Power and Infrastructure Business Line manages a large portfolio of activities related to thermal power generation and transport/distribution of electricity. A key topic is the energy transition and the sustainability of the energy supply.
The Water and Chemistry team of the Business Line Power and Infrastructure is active in the following technical domains:
• Cooling water chemistry
• Production of demineralized water
• Water and steam cycle chemistry
• Desalination
• Water as a feedstock for new energy systems
• Sustainable water management (reuse, recycle, recovery)
• Green chemistry
• Digitalization in the field of water circuits
The experts of the team develop a deep understanding and experience of those technical domains in order to:
• Offer operational expertise to both power assets and industries to anticipate and solve technical problems they can meet, improve their operational excellence and prepare them for future challenges. We perform consultancy like missions at our customer sites as well as troubleshooting interventions.
• Perform research programs for ENGIE and other stakeholders, where we :
o Map, assess, test and de-risk disruptive technologies
o Support in return on experience consolidation and practices uniformization
o Bring Innovation for A to Z optimization through own and co-development : innovative monitoring, modelling and forecasting
What you’ll be doing
Your responsibilities as Water Chemistry Medior Expert
Based in Belgium, you will for your domain(s) of expertise:
• Actively participate in the execution of service activities remotely or at customer site to optimize their processes, carry out troubleshooting activities, …
• Actively participate in the research activities and the development of new expertise/competences.
You will be able to develop new competences and experience in other fields of water based on the strategy of the company.
You will work alongside a supportive team, and will have access to professional development opportunities to help you grow in your career.
If you identify with any of the following, we encourage you to apply! Do you?
• Have a chemistry engineering degree or an equivalent experience
• Have 5-7 years of experience in one or several of the technical domains mentioned above.
• Focus on customers, are you creative and able to solve complex problems by providing innovative and high value-added solutions. Do you communicate effectively about the solutions you have developed.
• Have good communication skills
• Have organizational skills, autonomy and team spirit,
• Communicate fluently in English and French or Dutch, with a willingness to improve.
• Agree to travel worldwide on short term missions (1 to 2 weeks about 10 times per year).
