About ENGIE

ENGIE is a global leader in low-carbon energy supply and services. We have been active in the UK energy market for over 20 years, focusing on energy storage and renewable energy (solar, wind, biogas), while supplying energy to organisations of all sizes.

We are reshaping the energy future by reconciling economic performance with a positive impact on people and the planet. We are looking for individuals committed to helping turn our vision into reality.

About the role

The SMART Performance Analyst plays a central role in driving operational success across smart metering delivery. This is a hands-on performance and project support role, focused on using data and structured insight to influence agent activity, partner collaboration, and delivery outcomes.

You will work closely with internal teams, field agents, and third-party delivery partners to identify operational blockers, optimise performance, and ensure delivery commitments are met. Through clear reporting, performance tracking, and proactive stakeholder engagement, you will help improve field efficiency and overall programme outcomes.

A core part of this role includes compiling and delivering Monthly Business Review (MBR) packs to senior stakeholders to provide visibility, accountability, and insight into key operational trends and opportunities.

This is a Hybrid role assigned to our Leeds office where the successful candidate would be based two days a week.  On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

Performance Monitoring & Insight Delivery

  • Monitor and analyse key operational KPIs across smart meter installations, customer appointments, and agent productivity.
  • Create and deliver regular performance updates, visual dashboards, and tailored insight packs for a variety of stakeholders.
  • Lead weekly performance reviews with internal teams and delivery partners, identifying trends and recommending improvement actions.
  • Build, maintain, and present Monthly Business Review (MBR) packs that provide clear, executive-level summaries of performance, issues, and improvement plans.
  • Translate complex data into concise, actionable insights that drive accountability and informed decision-making.
  • Continuously improve the clarity, accessibility, and impact of performance tracking and reporting tools.

Project & Delivery Coordination

  • Coordinate multiple smart metering projects and initiatives, ensuring milestones are met and progress is clearly tracked.
  • Prioritise project activities based on field issues (e.g. access issues, incorrect meters, technical faults), resource availability, and business impact.
  • Track all project progress and produce weekly and monthly updates for internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Work cross-functionally to resolve field delivery issues and align on resource plans.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a key point of contact for field teams, internal functions, and third-party partners.
  • Organise tri-party calls with delivery partners and internal teams to manage project updates and operational challenges.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across teams to support aligned, efficient smart meter delivery.
  • Present MBR content and performance insights in stakeholder forums, ensuring clarity and actionability.

Team Collaboration & Support

  • Share best practices and operational insight with colleagues to strengthen performance awareness across the team, acting as a go-to person for performance data questions and delivery process clarifications.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • 3–5 years’ experience in performance analysis, project coordination, or operational delivery roles, ideally in a utilities or field services environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills with proven ability to use data and performance tracking to influence behaviour and improve outcomes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills — confident in leading discussions and presenting insights.
  • Highly organised and capable of managing multiple projects or priorities simultaneously.
  • Skilled in identifying operational risks, blockers, and improvement opportunities early.
  • Experienced in producing clear, impactful reports such as Monthly Business Review (MBR) packs — for non-technical and senior audiences.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with smart metering processes, field operations, or energy industry standards (desirable).
  • Experience working with third-party delivery partners or managing external stakeholders (desirable).
  • Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Agile (desirable).
  • Understanding of job scheduling, access issues, or agent resource planning in a field environment.

Shape

Personal Attributes

  • Performance- and outcomes-driven, with strong attention to detail.
  • Confident, collaborative, and proactive in resolving issues and driving improvements.
  • Able to challenge constructively and influence teams through insight and communication.
  • Curious and commercially aware, with a strong drive to understand how data informs operations.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment.
