Purpose of the job

The Meter Asset Management Team Manager will lead and inspire a team of Meter Asset Management Administrators to ensure our Metering Asset processes are managed efficiently, providing our customers with an excellent service and our 3rd parties with confidence. They will ensure they are managing a high performing team and work towards improving both employee performance and career development, whilst also maintaining the teams KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and looking for further improvements.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure the SMART/AMR Rollout for Gas and Electricity is managed and processes soak into BAU work to ensure we are meeting our industry targets and capturing responses where we do not
  • Seek to maximise revenue associated with the Gas & Electricity Siteworks process, with particular focus on claiming back moneys due from 3rd parties
  • Management of the Guaranteed Standards of Practice ensuring we are abiding by OFGEM SLAs (Service Level Agreement) in line with Performance Assurance and payments
  • Ensure all other related Metering Asset processes, are operated in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with business and industry practices, including AMR Faults, SMART Faults, Meter Faults, OFMAT Tests etc
  • Managing the day-to-day planning and productivity of the team, ensuring priorities are captured and the team made aware
  • Maintain the teams KPIs and be able to provide management with information on these when required, ensuring you are aware and understand the figures you are presenting
  • Encourage a sense of ownership and accountability among staff with a ‘right first time’ mentality
  • Conduct regular skill assessments amongst the team to identify areas that will benefit from cross training and allow growth for individuals
  • Manage the recruitment process for your team where required, conducting interviews alongside other managers
  • Ensure accuracy amongst attendance records, using internal systems to track these to enable correct resource management

Experience and skills:

  • Understanding of the customer lifecycle and interdependencies between Onboarding and interfacing departments, ideally in the Energy sector.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Previous team leader experience in a customer satisfaction focused or back office senior role would be beneficial
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a complex and dynamic environment
  • Non-technical understanding of software interfaces and incident resolution paths
  • Organisational skills.
  • Proven ability to produce accurate work within tight deadlines.
  • Practical approach to problem solving.
  • Process improvement methodology expertise is beneficial.
  • Good knowledge of industry processes particularly the relevant areas of the Licences, UNC, BSC (Balancing & Settlement Code), MRA, DCUSA (Distribution Connection Use of System Agreement), SEC (Smart Energy Code), SMICOP and DTC/Xoserve flows is desirable.

Qualifications:

  • GCSE English Grade C (or equivalent).
  • GCSE Mathematics Grade C (or equivalent).
