Summary of what you will do

  • Procure crop and waste feedstocks for our biomethane plants in the North East of the UK
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
  • Negotiate contracts and manage supply agreements
  • Analyse market trends and identify new feedstock opportunities
  • Collaborate with the feedstock team to optimize procurement strategies
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and sustainability requirements
  • Monitor and report on feedstock inventory and supply chain performance

 

What you will bring to the role

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in feedstock procurement or similar role in the renewable energy sector
  • Strong knowledge of agricultural and waste management industries
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and reporting
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong commercial acumen and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices and renewable energy regulations

 

Job Based In

The role will be assigned to our Leeds office, with significant travel across Yorkshire and the North East

Key accountabilities:-

 

· Identify feedstock sources and opportunities from both agricultural and other waste streams.

· Cultivate leads, initiate contact with decision makers at prospective feedstock suppliers.

· Lead, negotiate and manage commercial contracts to ensure best value and benefit

· Manage existing relationships, develop new relationships and win new contracts for supplies to our

biogas production plants.

· Organise, plan and schedule feedstock deliveries across the portfolio of sites, ensuring they arrive on

time and to expected specification.

· Ensure pipeline of feedstock supply is up to date and sufficient to meet future requirements (including

disaster recovery plan), with a clear visibility of the feedstock delivery plan. Identify supply risks and

implement mitigation measures.

· Feedstock contract management e.g. negotiations/reviews

· Working closely with the operations team to agree feedstock requirements, pricing, budgets and

forecasts

· Feedstock sampling and inspection regimes

· Maintain a testing and monitoring regime on new and existing feedstock lines. · Track feedstock usage and expenditure and report back to the feedstock, finance and sustainability teams · Compile feedstock performance data and KPI reporting. · Perform regular site visits and build strong working relationships with Plant Managers to understand their site processes and requirements. · Assist with site audits relating to feedstock · Develop and manage a strategy for digestate management and support digestate offtake agreements. · Investigate and develop a monetarised disposal route if practicable. · Responsibility to keep up to date with relevant legislation. · Actively promote the profile and awareness of Renewable Gases in the UK with all current and prospective stakeholders including, but not limited to, PR and industry events. · Assist with training and understanding for site staff of feedstock usage and quality.

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications/Knowledge ¨ Proven experience in supply chain and negotiating feedstock contracts from waste sources (both commercial and agricultural) ¨ Excellent communication skills with an ability to work with farmers and commercial businesses. ¨ Strong negotiation experience and an ability to represent the company in commercial discussions ¨ Proactive and driven in developing and securing new relationships. ¨ Ability to think strategically across a range of commercial opportunities. ¨ Full clean driving license Personal Attributes ¨ Proactive, hands-on, and solutions-oriented. ¨ Strong analytical and diagnostic skills. ¨ Resilient, adaptable, and capable of working under pressure. ¨ Collaborative and communicative with internal and external stakeholders. ¨ Commercially aware with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
