Maintenance Technician – Systems Assets II

We are looking for a Systems Assets Maintenance Technician II to join our team at UHSS. You will be responsible for ensuring the performance, reliability, and availability of substation equipment, protection systems, oscillography, energy metering, teleprotection, and telecommunications. Your work will have a direct impact on the safe and efficient operation of our generation and transmission assets.
Your responsibilities
- Perform maintenance services, calibration, and special testing on protection, transmission, and telecommunications equipment and systems with level 1 criticality.
- Participate in maintenance analysis and propose recommendations for the optimized operation of plants, substations, and transmission lines.
- Evaluate maintenance procedures, seeking best practices and technological innovations for system standardization and updates.
- Contribute to the analysis of cost and performance indicators (KPIs), proposing continuous improvement actions.
- Participate in multi-year and annual outage planning, including scheduling and execution of defined activities.
- Support consulting engineering activities in modernization, repowering, and commissioning projects for new developments.
- Act in the implementation of cybersecurity measures for industrial assets, complying with company security policies.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Technical degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or Electromechanics, with CFT registration.
- Valid Category B driver’s license.
- Knowledge of electrical equipment and systems for power plants, substations, and transmission lines.
- Proficiency in maintenance plans, methods, and techniques, diagnostics, and interpretation of functional drawings.
- Experience with maintenance management tools and technical documentation software.
- Ability to work independently with autonomy, while also collaborating effectively in a team environment.
- Nice to have: experience with electrical testing in substations (circuit breakers, power transformers) and knowledge of medium-voltage underground cables.
