What You Can Expect

As our Sale Representative I, you will support ENGIE’s growth objectives by identifying, developing, and converting new Commercial & Industrial (C&I) customer opportunities within the PJM market. The Sale Representative I will be responsible for building a qualified sales pipeline, cultivating strong customer relationships, and delivering energy solutions aligned with customers’ business objectives. Working closely with sales leadership and cross-functional teams, the Sale Representative I will develop expertise in retail electricity markets while contributing to regional sales growth, customer acquisition, and retention objectives.

This role serves as an entry point into ENGIE’s commercial sales organization and offers a structured pathway for professional development and advancement within the sales function.

 

 

 Key Accountabilities:

  • Sales & Customer Acquisition
  • Support the sales process from opportunity identification through contract execution
  • Present ENGIE's energy solutions and value proposition to prospective customers
  • Assist in developing competitive proposals that meet customer requirements
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to facilitate pricing requests, contract generation, and onboarding activities
  • Achieve individual sales goals related to customer acquisition, gross margin, and contracted volume

 

Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with prospective customers, existing customers, and channel partners
  • Deliver a high level of professionalism and customer service throughout the sales process
  • Support customer retention efforts by identifying opportunities for renewals and additional ENGIE services

 

Market Awareness & Product Knowledge

  • Develop an understanding of retail electricity, customer buying behaviors, and competitive offerings
  • Remain informed on market conditions, industry developments, and sustainability trends relevant to customers
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to build sales and industry expertise

 

Compliance & Governance

  • Adhere to ENGIE's ethics, compliance, safety, and governance requirements
  • Maintain accurate and complete customer, activity, and opportunity records within CRM systems
  • Follow established approval processes, sales controls, and risk management frameworks

 

 

What You’ll Bring 

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Finance, Economics, Communications, In lieu of a degree you have three (3) years of working experience where you gained hands-on experience in  business principles, management, and retail electricity markets
  • While this is an entry-level position, you will be expected to make meaningful contributions and deliver results while developing experience in retail energy sales and learning to execute effective sales strategies that meet or exceed targets
  • You have a demonstrated interest in sales, business development, customer engagement, or commercial markets, with a strong desire to build a career in the energy industry
  • You are a results-driven, self-motivated professional with previous internship, co-op, customer service, sales, account management, or business development experience and a strong drive to achieve and continuously improve results
  • You have strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with a customer-focused mindset and the ability to build positive relationships with customers, prospects, brokers, consultants, and internal stakeholders
  • You have strong organizational, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • You are knowledgeable in sales, prospecting, customer relationship management, and B2B sales processes, with an interest in energy markets, sustainability solutions, and commercial customer needs
  • You are knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications and CRM platforms, with the ability to quickly learn new products, systems, and processes and apply strong commercial acumen to customer opportunities
  • You are committed to a high standard of performance, with strong presentation and negotiation skills, the ability to motivate yourself and others, and a commitment to continuous learning, improvement, and professional development

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy, allowing for a mix of remote work and in-office presence
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 15% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record for travel and car rentals
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $ 57,000 – $87,400 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

 

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. 

 

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
