What You Can Expect
As our Sale Representative III, you will support ENGIE’s growth objectives by identifying, developing, and converting new Commercial & Industrial (C&I) customer opportunities within the PJM market. The Sale Representative III will be responsible for building a qualified sales pipeline, cultivating strong customer relationships, and delivering energy solutions aligned with customers’ business objectives. Working closely with sales leadership and cross-functional teams, the Sale Representative III will develop expertise in retail electricity markets while contributing to regional sales growth, customer acquisition, and retention objectives.
The Sales Representative III is expected to operate with limited supervision while consistently delivering individual sales goals and contributing to regional sales performance.
Key Accountabilities:
Business Development & Strategic Growth
- Identify, develop, and secure new Commercial & Industrial (C&I) customers for retail electricity, natural gas, renewable energy, and sustainability solutions
- Develop and execute territory growth strategies that support regional and organizational sales objectives
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline through proactive prospecting, networking, industry engagement, referrals, broker relationships, and market research
- Identify emerging market opportunities, customer trends, and competitive threats, providing market intelligence and strategic recommendations to sales leadership
- Achieve or exceed individual sales targets related to margin, revenue, contracted volume, customer acquisition, and profitability
Sales Leadership & Commercial Execution
- Lead complex sales opportunities from prospect identification through contract execution and onboarding
- Develop and present compelling customer solutions that align customer objectives with ENGIE's commercial capabilities
- Independently negotiate and close high-value and strategically important contracts while ensuring compliance with company governance requirements
- Manage complex, multi-location, and enterprise customer opportunities requiring coordination across multiple business units and stakeholders
- Support regional growth initiatives and contribute to the development of sales strategies, market approaches, and customer acquisition plans
- Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for less experienced sales team members by sharing market knowledge, best practices, and commercial insights
Account & Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with customers, prospects, consultants, brokers, and other channel partners
- Establish trusted advisor status with key stakeholders by providing strategic guidance on energy procurement, market trends, risk management, and sustainability solutions
- Act as the primary commercial representative of ENGIE within assigned markets and customer segments
- Manage a portfolio of strategic customer and broker relationships to maximize customer retention, growth, and profitability
- Lead customer renewals, cross-selling, and upselling opportunities to increase customer lifetime value and strengthen customer engagement
Market Expertise & Product Development
- Maintain advanced knowledge of retail energy markets, commodity pricing, contract structures, sustainability solutions, and customer procurement strategies
- Assess customer requirements and recommend innovative energy, renewable, and energy management solutions
- Support product development and go-to-market initiatives through customer feedback, market intelligence, and competitive analysis
- Monitor regulatory, market, and industry developments and communicate impacts to customers and internal stakeholders
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Supply, Risk, Credit, Pricing, Legal, Operations, Marketing, and Business Controls teams to structure, approve, and execute complex transactions
- Coordinate internal resources to ensure timely proposal delivery, contract execution, onboarding, and customer support
- Support operational excellence by ensuring contract disputes, customer issues, and commercial escalations are resolved in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline reporting, opportunity management, and CRM data integrity
Compliance & Governance
- Operate within established limits of authority, risk frameworks, compliance requirements, and commercial approval processes
- Ensure all sales activities are conducted in accordance with ENGIE ethics, compliance, regulatory, and safety standards
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation throughout the sales lifecycle
- Support audit, control, and governance activities as required
What You’ll Bring
- You hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Economics. In lieu of a degree you have seven (7) years of working experience where you gained hands-on experience in business principles, management, and retail electricity markets
- A minimum five (5) years of experience within the retail energy industry, with demonstrated success in acquiring, developing, and retaining Commercial & Industrial (C&I) customers
- You have a proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales, revenue, margin, and customer acquisition targets
- You have a demonstrated interest in sales, business development, customer engagement, or commercial markets, with a strong desire to build a career in the energy industry
- You have strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with a customer-focused mindset and the ability to build positive relationships with customers, prospects, brokers, consultants, and internal stakeholders
- You have strong organizational, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment
- You are knowledgeable in sales, prospecting, customer relationship management, and B2B sales processes, with an interest in energy markets, sustainability solutions, and commercial customer needs
- You are knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications and CRM platforms, with the ability to quickly learn new products, systems, and processes and apply strong commercial acumen to customer opportunities
- You are committed to a high standard of performance, with strong presentation and negotiation skills, the ability to motivate yourself and others, and a commitment to continuous learning, improvement, and professional development
- You have experience with renewable energy, sustainability products, energy services, demand response, or structured energy solutions
- You have experience working with executive-level decision-makers within medium, large, and enterprise Commercial & Industrial organizations
- You have experience leading strategic account planning initiatives and cross-functional sales opportunities
- You have experience utilizing Salesforce or similar CRM platforms for opportunity management, forecasting, and performance reporting
Additional Details
- This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy, allowing for a mix of remote work and in-office presence
- Must be available to travel domestically up to 15% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record for travel and car rentals
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation
Salary Range: $88,800 - $136,045 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan and emergency or on-call pay.
