Role
The LT Asset Trading & Portfolio management department is looking for a RES/BESS Trader who will be managing wind, solar and BESS portfolio for own assets as well as for 3th party developers. The RES/BESS Trader strives for excellence on renewables energy management through systems, models and risk management expertise and aims to grow the portfolio which is in line with the group’s ambition.
As a RES/BESS Trader we expect you to :
- Be in charge of Wind/PV and BESS pricing and offering i.e. forecasting, structuration, costing & pricing
- Develop LT trading & optimization strategies
- P&L accountability: Manage RES & BESS long-term positions and maximize their value
- Provide and oversee load forecasting follow-up during the life cycle, including updated BestConsumptionView positions
- Be an excellent team player, within your own team and across other departments & activities
- Show a continuous drive to grow the business and to implement profitable trading strategies that (1) protect the value at inception and (2) increase and secure profitability
- Understanding of data and pricing models and required tools used for the activity
- Feel accountable of the full value chain of the Renewables business as they impact the PnL
- Drive the development of flexibility solutions to manage the intermittency of the portfolio in a cost-effective manner
- Be respectful of your risk and trader mandate and act in compliance with group governance on a.o. HSE, DEI, ethics & cybersecurity
- While you are member of the Polish platform, tools and processes might be under the governance of Engie Central teams. So you must be capable of performing your activities in an international context.
Skills:
- Advanced analytical skills and proficiency with data and IT tools
- You are resilient to stress
- You are a problem solver and you take initiative
- Python coding knowledge is a must
- Knowledge of Orchestrate (OT) including GECO/GEPO suite is a plus
- You are an independent thinker and challenger in a positive spirit
- You are demanding towards yourself and colleagues in a positive and respectful spirit
- Strong knowledge of energy market mechanisms. Knowledge of Polish context: market design and players (competition, PSE, URE, TGE) is a plus
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment
- Driving continuous improvement in processes, tools, and standards for data supervision.
- Clear communication with internal teams, managers, and external stakeholders
Required qualifications :
- Higher education (preferably in economics, mathematics, or energy).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in energy asset portfolio management and/or RES/BESS Trading.
- Languages skills
- Fluent in English (minimum B2);
- Polish or French is a plus
Travels:
The job is based in Katowice PL or Brussels BE with regular travels between both locations and occasional travel across Europe
