Role

The ST Trading, market access & scheduling department is looking for an ID Trader who will be managing the company’s position on the electricity market within the RDB (Intraday) and develop new activities such as Algo-trading related to BESS. The objective is to optimise the portfolio, maximise profits and ensure compliance with applicable market and operational regulations.

As an ID Trader we expect you to  :

• Execution of electricity purchase/sale transactions on the intraday market (TGE).
• Develop ST trading & optimization strategies
• Develop BESS ID algo trading activities
• Monitoring the portfolio position, identifying and correcting deviations between forecast and actual energy production.
• Responding to unplanned events (e.g. failures, changes in renewable energy generation, sudden spikes in demand).
• Ongoing analysis of weather data, supply/demand forecasts and market behaviour. Use of analytical tools to make trading decisions.
• Preparing operational and commercial reports on transactions, balancing and operational efficiency.
• Performing duties on a shift basis, including evening and weekend shifts.
• Ensuring compliance with market regulations (REMIT, IRiESD, TGE rules) and internal company policies.
• Analysing short-term electricity price trends.
• Implementing and improving tools and procedures for portfolio management and market operations carried out by the Company.
• Be an excellent team player, within your own team and across other departments & activities
• Understanding of data and pricing models and required tools used for the activity
• Be respectful of your risk and trader mandate and act in compliance with group governance on a.o. HSE, DEI, ethics & cybersecurity
• While you are member of the Polish platform, tools and processes might be under the governance of Engie
• Central teams. So you must be capable of performing your activities in an international context.

Skills:

• Advanced analytical skills and proficiency with data and IT tools
• You are resilient to stress
• You are a problem solver and you take initiative
• Python coding knowledge is a must
• Knowledge of BESS and/or algo-trading is a plus
• Knowledge of Orchestrate (OT) including GECO/GEPO suite is a plus
• You are an independent thinker and challenger in a positive spirit
• You are demanding towards yourself and colleagues in a positive and respectful spirit
• Strong knowledge of energy market mechanisms. Knowledge of Polish context (PSE,URE,TGE) is a plus
• Ability to adapt to a changing environment
• Driving continuous improvement in processes, tools, and standards for data supervision.
• Clear communication with internal teams, managers, and external stakeholders

Required qualifications :

• Higher education (preferably in economics, mathematics, or energy).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in energy asset portfolio management and/or RES/BESS Trading.
• Commodity Exchange Broker License
• Languages skills
  • Fluent in English (minimum B2);
  • Polish or French is a plus

Travels:

The job is based in Katowice PL, regular travels in Europe (mostly Belgium and France)
