Human Resources Director – Poland
Location: Katowice / hybrid work
Job Description:
ENGIE is a global leader in the energy transition. We are looking for an experienced HR Director to serve as the strategic HR leader at the country level, fully accountable for meeting Poland's HR needs and ensuring high-quality service delivery. In this role, you will align and implement Group and Platform Lead Country HR strategies, support business objectives, foster talent, and lead the transformation towards a new HR organization. This is a pivotal opportunity to redesign HR organization, modernize processes, and upskill teams to better support ENGIE's strategic priorities in Poland.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary liaison with the HRD of the Platform Lead Country, ensuring alignment of priorities and effective implementation of country-wide HR strategies.
- Hold overall accountability for HR matters in Poland, leading HR Business Partners, Social Relations, and HR Operations teams.
- Ensure HR Business Partners deliver business-focused support to the GBU, driving performance and strengthening talent development.
- Lead labor relations to ensure legal compliance, mediate contract negotiations, and manage contractual rights and obligations effectively.
- Oversee HR operations to ensure compliant hiring, employee management, onboarding, and terminations in line with Polish labor law.
- Partner closely with Competence Platforms (C&B, People Development, POS) to adapt and implement solutions that meet country-specific requirements.
- Lead and develop a high-performing country HR team, managing performance, skills development, and budget compliance.
- Represent Poland in global HR meetings and contribute to ENGIE's global HR agenda.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in HR within multinational or matrixed organizations, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources or a related field; post-graduate studies are a plus.
- Proven experience in regional or global roles within complex, international environments.
- Strong knowledge of HR processes with advanced expertise in HR Analytics and data-driven decision-making.
- Expertise in talent management, workforce planning, leadership development, and organizational development.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills.
- Ability to operate effectively across multicultural and global business contexts.
- Fluent English (working proficiency).
