Context:

 

Within ENGIE South Africa, the S&EM business is in full development. The South African branch of S&EM aims to meet the energy needs of private offtakers across Southern Africa, by providing them with energy and supporting them in their optimization actions and transition towards a decarbonized production.

The Financial Modeller and Pricing Specialist is responsible for creating and maintaining financial models to support Tenders/RFQ’s, Quotation, strategic decision-making, and analyzing commercial contracts and deals to maximize profitability. The role reports directly to the Head of Commercial and Trading and works closely with various departments including Operations, Procurement and Finance. Support the sales team in acquiring new business through accurate, insightful and well-prepared commercial models designed to reflect accurate costs, benchmarking and profitability while accounting for all cost impacts.

Role:

  • Develop, maintain and update pricing models to support the sales & marketing team in tenders and proposals, business planning, valuation, and decision-making.
  • Review tender requirements and pricing models required in order to develop a commercial / pricing model responsive to the client requirements, while meeting business objectives and ensuring targeted Revenue, GP’s and commercials are met.
  • Analyze complex data sets and financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management.
  • Manage and present commercial models and identify areas to maximize profitability or minimize risk.
  • Reporting on all commercial matrix including revenues, margins, benchmarking, quarterly and annual projections
  • Ability to breakdown complex costing for proposals while maintaining an understanding of commercial needs of the business.
  • Present financial and commercial analysis and client financial models to internal stakeholders, including senior management, to drive business decisions.

 

Qualification, Experience and Skills:

 

  • Degree in business, finance, economics, engineering or a related field.
  • 3 years’ work experience in the renewable energy / power sector in similar role.
  • Strong background in finance, and customer-focused industries.
  • Skills in financial modelling, energy trading, and project finance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
