2. BACKGROUND |
|
ENGIE is a global reference in low-carbon energy and services. The Group is committed to accelerate the transition towards a carbon-neutral world, through reduced energy consumption and more environmentally friendly solutions. Engie Southern Africa has a portfolio of utility-scale power generation assets with long-term PPAs, these include the following technologies: Solar PV, Onshore Wind, CSP and OCGT, with mature projects in the pipeline that include BESS and CPPAs. Purpose The CSO is a strategic partner to country management, responsible for embedding sustainability into core operations for better business, better influence and better together. The CSO is responsible for leading the company on effective management of ESG risks and impacts, including demonstrating leadership in responsible community investment and sustainable company performance. An important part of this is integrating ESG considerations into Engie South Africa’s management philosophy and approach such that all decisions are informed by these considerations. This involves leading the design and development of the Company’s ESG policies and ED Strategy, providing strategic oversight and direction to the team and ensuring ongoing implementation of the company’s Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS). |
