What You Can Expect
As our Project Controls Analyst II, you will be working in a self-managed team concept, part of the ENGIE capital projects team based at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. Our projects are located on two local University campuses, and includes the University Hospital. As part of this team you will be responsible for performing monitoring and control functions and program management activities in support of the utility infrastructure capital projects associated with expanding and maintaining the utility system on the campus. This position will report to the Program Manager and will have both a technical and administrative focus.
This position is being hired in support of a 50 year concession agreement to operate, maintain and enhance the University of Iowa’s utility system. The projects you’ll take on will involve numerous and diverse projects in the areas of electric and thermal energy production and distribution, and storm- and wastewater infrastructure.
No two days are the same, starting with project development stage through project execution, you will be working with team members in the development of projects and schedules. You will assist the Program Manager in the development of project schedules and project justifications, provide schedule analysis for the project management team, and provide reporting support for the Director of Capital Projects. You will work closely with project managers to develop, support, manage, and monitor schedule and reporting elements of capital projects across the Iowa campus. You will use or develop processes and tools to measure, analyze, and improve project performance.
Additional duties include:
- Monitor and control Project Delivery team members’ essential adherence to programmatic activities, including the management of project schedules and documentation of project requirements
- Aid in the development of the project management group’s Standard Operating Procedure, including the curation, analysis, and implementation of its Lessons Learned program
What You’ll Bring
- You have earned a Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, construction management or related field
- You will have gained a minimum of two (2) years of experience in Project Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline
- You will have gained experience creating and giving presentations and professional communications, using Microsoft Office, Procore, or other project management tools, to create written reports, project updates, and reporting data for all stakeholders including your management team, contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies
- You are knowledgeable about the phases of civil or industrial construction work, including associated contracts, contract types (DBB, CM@R, GMP, T&M), and risk mitigation strategies
- You will have demonstrated ability to create a team culture of camaraderie, integrity and trust among the integrated project team members and exhibits excellent interpersonal skills that include listening to other’s ideas and viewpoints and the resolution of conflict situations
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings and ensure performance expectations and resultant outcomes are met

- Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills, with proficiency in MS Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
Compensation
Salary Range: $61,400 – $94,070 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
