What You Can Expect
As a Power Congestion Intern, you will improve grid modeling, analysis, and visualization of renewable generators for the purpose of power price forecasting; Research data using relevant databases and statistical tools.
- Provide analytical support in business functions, such as analyzing the drivers of congestion market outcomes based on macro-fundamentals (supply, demand, renewables) and micro-fundamentals (specific transmission and generation outage impacts, bids, facility limits)
- Provide grid modeling support by identifying model gaps and recommending appropriate solutions
- Build dashboard and visualization using Tableau and SQL queries on large datasets
- Develop and maintain Excel tools using VBA, macros and advanced formula
- Develop and maintain adhoc tools using python and large datasets
- Participate in ISO meetings as appropriate and assess commercial impacts
- Collaborate with IT personnel to maintain and improve trade tools
What You’ll Bring
- Must be at least a junior or senior (by end of spring 2026 semester) working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Business/Finance/STEM, or any relevant disciplines
- Academic project or internship experience in data analytics and visualization using advanced tools such as Python, Tableau, R, Excel
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills in one or more of the listed job functions
- Proficient in Tableau and Python/R
- Proficient in data management (data wrangling, cleansing, and querying)
- Knowledge of statistical techniques
Additional Details
- The internship work term will be from May 2026 – August 2026, part-time work schedule working up to 40 hours per week
- Interns must be enrolled students in good standing at the commencement of the intern semester
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies;
- Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
- Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to use company computer and calculator
Compensation
Hourly Range: $26.50 – 35.50 USD hourly
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
