About the role

Working as part of the Infrastructure & Operations Team, this role will have responsibility for ensuring operations of hybrid (on-premise and cloud-based) infrastructure services for various ENGIE UK business units / operations, across a number of platforms. The role requires in depth practical knowledge of a wide range of infrastructure services, involves offering advice and guidance to the IT colleagues and customers and liaising with 3rd parties on support issues where appropriate.

 

ENGIE are recruiting for an Infrastructure Cloud Engineer. This role is home based but there might be regular travel to offices in ExeterThis is a Permanent role, working full time Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.
 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Design, build, maintenance and support of core infrastructure services hosted on-premise or in the cloud

  • Support and maintain infrastructure in Engie’s regional operational sites in South West England

  • Travel to operational sites as required for both scheduled work and incidents as required.

  • Liaise and engage with the wider Infrastructure team remotely and occasionally on London and /or Leeds

  • Monitoring and optimising of infrastructure services to ensure availability and reliability

  • 3rd line support infrastructure incidents within agreed SLAs

  • Ensuring all incidents are updated in a regular, accurate and timely manner

  • Escalating incidents when required · Perform systems administration activities such as performance tuning and data management

  • Ownership of infrastructure services projects and their successful design and delivery

  • Install and provision of new infrastructure services, upgrade and patch existing estate

 

 

Key Requirements

 

  • Experience in management, delivery and support of cloud services

  • A good working knowledge and understanding of infrastructure management

  • Experience implementing and configuring monitoring, patching and optimisation tools

  • Knowledge of Public and Private Cloud services – eg AWS and Azure

  • Knowledge of/experience of Industrial operational and control technologies including:

  • Networking ICS (Industrial Control Systems)  / Networking SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems

  • Knowledge of wider OT (Operational Technology) systems · Zscaler ZIA/ ZPA management and config

  • Network Firewalling host-based firewalls, web application firewalls (WAF) and cloud firewalls

  • Experience in virtualisation technologies and platforms

  • Awareness of ITIL best practice framework.

  • Project and delivery experience

  • Experience of working effectively in a small team environment
