What You Can Expect

As the Software Engineering Director, in Houston, Texas for ENGIE FlexGen (Flexible Generation including Storage, Thermal and Hydrogen) North America you will be responsible for contributing to and the implementation of the technical roadmap, leadership and supervision of the software engineering group. The Director will be responsible for engineering labor estimates, creation of and maintenance of technical specifications, support communication network architectures, and management of internal and external resources in support of FGBU projects. Every day, you will report to the Chief Technology Officer, (FBGU) North America managing the Software Engineering Team. Ideally the director will work closely with other groups to ensure successful implementation, commissioning and operation of the systems for high availability.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in management, engineering, science or technology
  • At minimum ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience related to the development, design, and construction of complex energy/ electrical projects
  • At minimum seven (7) years of direct involvement in the commissioning phase of complex energy/ electrical projects
  • Experience with developing software in embedded platforms, web services, current programming languages, with controls systems knowledge being a valuable asset to the position
  • Extensive technical experiences on energy storage or renewables projects
  • Knowledge of systems and data architectures, network and data communications systems and cyber security principles and technologies
  • Ability to manage and operate in an agile environment, focused on constant improvement and enhancement through an iterative process
  • Ability to lead, develop and motivate others

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 15% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $146,300 – $224,135 USD annually

 

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
